With what Fredd-E and mdg have said, I'm 100% sure it isn't.Elephant Face wrote:I don't think this is what Boards Of Canada wants us to be doing.
It has probably been an annoyance to them.
But it's finished now (I guess) and maybe there's something to be learned from it all.
(Unless I'm misunderstanding what you've said.)
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.
Yeah I figured that out after a brief moment of panic, but thanks for the reassurance.Fredd-E wrote:Rest assured, it's not malware. http://www.viglink.com/egbdf wrote:Completely off-topic: look at the very first post in this thread. Notice that "ebay" is a link. That scared me. Thought it was malware on my computer. Not that I don't think the forum should try to have a little income to support the site, but this particular method really looks a lot like malware.

he said, boc will say enough is enough as soon as people care more about new material than they do about unreleased materialchronical wrote:what?arvy wrote:As soon, as people will give more fuck about new material, than never released.
BTW R35TT side 2 - if you say that this genuinely sounds worse than what you have then you need to send me what you have!
no way jose (i mean fredd-e).Fredd-E wrote:MDG's final statement not enough clarity then? MDG provided Mike & Marcus the flac files and cassette tape scans. Mike & Marcus analysed both and gave their feedback to MDG. MDG relayed us the feedback. 1. i can't imagine mike and marcus doing petty analysis like that.
2. something tells me we can trust anybody or nobody or something in between (preferably at a roll of a dice?)
3. clarity? where? he said 100% those are some old files which are clearly not. if he said "dudes, chill out, the 192kbps versions you had were a more true experience, trust me" was actually more clear and valuable than this 100% horse manure

Maybe BoC should hold a press conference during half time of the Brazil v Chile game tomorrow to tell the world what some of us already know.untitled wrote:no way jose (i mean fredd-e).Fredd-E wrote:MDG's final statement not enough clarity then? Hey, maybe it's not the band tell us what to do, maybe it's us firstly who make choices. As soon as I start follow BOC music, I see that dilemma, people don;t wanna push the band for the release of the old unreleased material, for whatever reason it was not released, but also they want that material so badly, it's even not funnychronical wrote:what?arvy wrote:As soon, as people will give more fuck about new material, than never released.
But hey, I also enjoy Old tunes very much, it's contains some of the most beautiful moments in BOC music, maybe it's just no that cult status for me.

I'm sorry.. but that's such a complete misreading. The advice to not throw away money is clearly purely as a result of a conviction that the copies now emerging are *not* new audio rips (high quality) but what are believed to be high-quality 'tuned up' versions of the long-time freely available versions.
