I AM GOD. THE ULTIMATE RESONANCE.
There are a lot of different 'me's, you know. There's the mad me, when I get angry.

Let's not get silly. Take his word for it, there's really no need for us to all get argumentative over something so trivial.untitled wrote:first of all, official statements don't close cases unless you are Hitler, Stalin or some other person who is right just because he is "an official."
We're all taking it for granted that we even get to hear at least the lesser-quality rips we have. The fact that people have become this aggressive over this is frankly disappointing. We were never supposed to hear this stuff, it doesn't belong to us.
MDG is the closest we have to literally the most reliable source on what is and isn't legitimate.
Nobody knows for sure about anything. There's so much supposed stuff out there created by a group so influential. I used to feel this way to an extent about The Beach Boys' Smile until the 2011 reissue. An almost selfish endless search for good bootlegs of an unreleased unfinished record.Rodheh wrote:Quoted six times for truth. I have no idea why. Why is this so true yet complete bullshit at the same time? There's like this palpable layer of "what the fuck" you feel as a BoC fan or something.

I doubt many think remastered old stuff will never emerge, but speculation and endless talk about that kind-of stuff is just a ridiculous thing to keep doing after all this time. If BoC fans can't learn to be patient... they will never "get" it...paul wrote:ok, i'll bite ...you really think we are relegated to 192kbps and shitty tape transfers in perpetuity?zeoevil wrote:And monkeys might fly out of my butt.paul wrote:...an indication that the real deal isn't far off.

define trivial. a locked topic is trivial? making definitive statements is trivial?Iced Cooly Beatnik wrote:Let's not get silly. by the way why should i take his word on it? i took his word on "old tune is NOT BOARDS OF CANADA 100%" circa 2000's and after 10 years i found out i was stupid to do that. and i mentioned that 2 times already. you have trouble reading don't you?

Music (as much as we love it) is essentially trivial. It's not worth being nasty or throwing names over.untitled wrote:define trivial. a locked topic is trivial? making definitive statements is trivial?Iced Cooly Beatnik wrote:Let's not get silly. MDG is, as I said, the closest thing to BoC's voice we have. It's better and easier to just accept what he says as truth for the time being. Put yourself in his/their position. Would you rather just tell people it's fake rather than have all this commotion and arguments over it? And please don't act like it's at all a malicious thing to do.

All silliness aside, after all this time and all this fuss, I honestly don't think we will ever hear more than the odd song here and there on anniversary compilations from Warp. What can I say? Beyond one lone confirmation they'd given any consideration to the idea, they've given no one any reason whatsoever to believe they still are working on their old music. After this recent series of events, they have to know we not only have the music right now and love it, but desperately want to hear it in high quality. It's found money. It's like they don't want to be millionaires or something. No effort required. I could see it if they were still young lads at the pub, but they have families now. Cars? Schools? New equipment? That vintage synthesizer? There is no shame in cashing in. After a certain point in any musician's career, when you have earned the respect of your fans and peers, you have earned the right to do things like compilations of your best songs. What's stopping them from slapping ten songs on a disc and putting it up on Bleep for twenty bucks? Remember that Cunningham commercial? They gave him a bunch of songs to use. Just gave him some songs because he was their pal. There is a high quality version of 5.9.78 right there that I would pay money for right now.paul wrote:...you might wish to prepare your balloon knot.zeoevil wrote:...my butt.paul wrote:...an indication that the real deal isn't far off.
Too long, didn't read. I'm willing to throw money at my monitor, but Mike and Marcus don't want it.

Just keep in mind that we are in contact with mdg for a couple of years now. To verify this contact mdg and BoC pulled this great stunt to include twoism.org in their superb TH marketing campaign. I assume, you being a BoC fan for 10+ years now, know about this?
Once Doors_Of_Perception sent me the tapes a few months ago I contacted mdg right away. With only the knowledge of the way how the tapes got there and the cover handwriting, mdg debunked it right away. He didn't even needed to hear the audio.
Now let's fast forward to the moment Doors_Of_Perception made a topic and combined it with asking money. Fredd-E contacted mdg about the issue and to be 100% sure the tapes got analyzed.
Believe what you want but you won't get more clarity than what already has been said.mdg wrote:the band themselves and a couple of well-respected audio tech friends have all shared this stuff this morning and all came to exactly the same conclusion very quickly, they're entirely the same mp3s.

Sorry if I'm being slow, but I've been dipping in and out of this story for a few days. Can you please point me in the right direction to find the thread this MDG quote came from?

For this occasion I made an exception by quoting mdg from a personal chat. I'll leave it to this and won't go into the whole credibility story again. Those on the board who have been involved with the TH campaign know that we ain't talking bollocks.mc10101 wrote:Aesthetics wrote:

That's concrete enough. There's no discernible reason for mdg to make anything up at this point.Aesthetics wrote:Once Doors_Of_Perception sent me the tapes a few months ago I contacted mdg right away.
