What's the latest movie that struck you?

If you're planning on seeing "The Covenant", do yourself a favor and spend your $8.50 on ANYTHING else. This was the cheesiest movie I've seen in a long time. I was asked to go by a couple of my friends and I saw the trailer (which didn't interest me) and thought "what the hell, I'll give it a try"...Big mistake, I wasted an hour and a half of my life on this piece of shit. They actually used the line "weatch" instead of "beatch".

Now I remember why I don't see new movies that often.

Forget about the new movies and take a look again to the classics! This is one of my favourites: "Pink Flamingos" [1972]
Let's get the dog turd out of the way first. Yes, Divine does wolf down a real live, freshly laid parcel of pooch poo in John Waters' trashy cult classic, but that's not reason alone for its place on this list. And it's not just it's rather shoddy production values either. Pink Flamingos is the sheer chutzpah of Waters' story - two families compete with each to see who can be the most disgusting - and willingness to push back the barriers of tat, taste and what audiences were willing to tolerate waaaaay back in 1972. Without Waters, we might never have had the literal flood of jizz/piss/poo jokes that assailed us all in recent years. Believe it or not, but that's something to thank him for!!!

Nice! That's one of my favorite shows, I never miss an episode. I was skeptical after seeing that it was getting broadcasted on Fox, but it's really well done. Exit; if you keep watching it I guarantee you'll get hooked.

I just like movies and shows about prison for some reason like Shawshank Redemtion and Oz.

Yeah man, just wait it gets more grousome. (well for cable tv at least) The second season just started here in the states and it's even better than the first. I would recommend you watch it from the begining or else you might not be able to follow what's going on.

Not really, he's cute but the story is very interesting, i like movies about jails. Shawshank Redemtion is one of my favourite's, maybe the best story from Stephen King on film.

I love movies that are a little left of the norm, but I just didn't..."get"?...this one. Maybe it was way over my head, but I found it dull. Anyone else seen it?

Cache (Hidden) by Michael Haneke

I know someone else has commented on this film in here, but lord knows where.

Anyway, Haneke is the director of "Funny Games", which I'll never, ever forget and always try to recommend to everyone. I do believe that I had watched that once as a double feature with "Happiness".. scarred for life, yes.

"Cache" (how do I get that little thing above the 'e'?) wasn't as good as "Funny Games" in my opinion, though did have me thorougly stressed out on numerous occasions. It does leave a lot left to the imagination of the viewer (which is a great thing!)

The DVD also contained one of the best director interviews I've ever seen. Short, concise with some great insights into the mind behind the film.

I *really* want to see "Time of the Wolf" by Haneke. Based on this blurb on imdb, it can't be bad.. "When Anna and her family arrive at their holiday home, they find it occupied by strangers. This confrontation is just the beginning of a painful learning process."

Hooray for strangers and a painful learning process!

Yeah, I could tell just by the fact that the main chacters all looked like members of The Backstreet Boys that there was no fucking way in hell that movie could be any good.

Also take a peep at 'Benny's Video' [1992] from Haneke
A story about a boy called Benny, who watches violent movies, including a home-made video of a pig being slaughtered. Soon after, Benny loses his mind and kills a girl and films the murder with his video camera.
