I feel like this youtube posting of "Numerator" might be legit. Is it?

It's r35tt B04 except there's an extra instrument starting at 0:44 which fits nicely.

The length on is 4:43 but the music actually ends at 4:37 and the remaining 6 seconds are silence...this is a good sign.

If it's not Numerator, then someone did what imo is a great version of 04B regardless!

That's the only upload by that poster "ZmVicnVhcnkgMjAxNA". I hope their next upload is Infinite Lines of Colourful Sevens.

Edit: wow, in another thread "wash" hypothesized the 4B equivalence a year ago

My money is on [4B] being "Numerator" from Play by Numbers. It's a nice, simple guitar and drums based track that flirts with shoegaze textures without fully becoming 'shoegaze'. It also seems like a logical progression from a track that I would assume would be epic, "Infinite Lines of Colorful Sevens" which is over nine minutes. The track lengths fit too - only ten seconds shorter than "Numerator"

Aw. Link to thread please? (I didn't find it when searching the threads but I can look harder.) So someone just added that instrument themself? And added 10 seconds to make the lengths match? Tricky of them. Oh well, still a nice rendition.

You know what would be freaking awesome? If they ever release that lighthouse track and in the beginning of the track you can hear the people from the bootleg and then,. The song in full quality begins... that would be a real treat.

Oh i got a question! There was an interview where they mentioned the old tunes, but i cant find it. They mentioned something about killing thee people who leaked their tunes in a joking manner(i hope)

Which are better quality R35TT files, the 256 bitrate "Unreleased B", or the 192 bitrate "Rare Cassette Tracks"? I can't hear a difference so I'm going with the 256 for 4B and 9B.

I don't know how remastering works but those remasters are said to originate from the mp3's. If that's the case, was any audio information lost in the remastering process? For instance by removing hiss, didn't they also remove musical bits? Was the remastering just an artificial version of the song or did it legitimately improve the quality?

I've thought about this for a long time, because of how fucking disgusting it was that the first thing someone sought out doing when they got a hold of Old Tunes was to put it up for auction.

If someone were to stumble upon/have a copy of something like Hooper Bay - in example - given to them/a new copy was made for them, and they're pretty sure it's legitimate, shouldn't they contact MDG immediately and have the tapes delivered back to Hexagon Sun? It's obvious that either BoC never wanted this material to be released or that they released it and the entire story of the leak was fabricated, and assuming it's the former and they're not the kind to do that, I'm starting to feel that however hyped up we might probably be if one of us got a hold of another tape by some means, it's somewhat wrong to release it.

Leaning towards "wrong" about 60%. I'm glad Old Tunes is out there but strictly in a "well, at least we've heard it" sense. This seems like one of those things where you need to put yourself in their position: what if old material you didn't want released got leaked to the internet/entered physical circulation?

It just so happens that the bulk of the fanbase likes Old Tunes. It's a complete coincidence that probably makes BoC feel less aggravated over its existence online.

It still wasn't intended for us to hear.

I feel like whoever might possibly find the next tape, which is going to be inevitable, should do a lot of thinking while they're listening to it about what they're going to do after they've finished listening to it. Not even take the risk of passing it to a friend before sending it back - people can't be trusted, apparently not even BoC fans who are generally cool. Somewhere there exist people with copies of the music, either backed up or still in physical form, that is to stay only for their ears as it was given to them. They've not broken any promises. I don't even know if a member of a community that runs on hype a lot could handle being in the same situation. It all starts at "okay, but you PROMISE you won't..." to the wrong person and then it's all out of control from there potentially.

My initial thought is, how about a middle ground -- I don't leak it, but I sure as hell don't return it lol I keep it for myself to listen to.

Anyway it would be like hitting the musical lottery so it's purely hypothetical. I'd think harder about it if it actually happened.

Keep it. Listen to it. Cherish it. Enjoy it. Insure it. Take pictures of myself holding it and smiling. Post them on twoism. Endure the cries of outrage and childish insults. Play it for twoism users that come from far and wide to smoke and listen to Play By Numbers, because, really, I want that album more than Hooper Bay by a long mile.
