Terrifying you say?
I think this probably qualifies.

i don't like either of those artists tbh. them vocals are awfully pretentious, as for s. o'malley... nuff said.

thats not dark, it's lightweight on 4ad.

I dont really get it. I only listened to the soused track, but I don't get it. The voice is annoying and is way to loud compared to everything else. It makes the guitar sound like it comes from one of those tiny hobby-amps, which is fine if you're going for that, but it doesnt seem to fit here. I liked the screech sound in it, but nothing to new or interesting. There is some potential I guess, I'll have to check out more songs. Some meat shots in the video where pretty good.

i'll go with unconvinced.

i like one old scott walker track and thats Boy Child, he's trying too hard for an old man now, it ain't working.
i know a lot of peeps lap it up, its different ill give it that but does not necessarily mean worthwhile.

Very pretentious stuff in fairness.

Still on the fence then..? ;-)

Seriously though, I get the scepticism. It's perilously close to that horrendous pile of turd that was Lou Reed and Metallica. Personally I think it's alright and definitely better than that. Reserving judgement until I hear the whole thing.

Opinions eh. Who'd have em?

Unbelievably excited for this.

I suppose get the 'pretentious' comments to a certain extent but having listened to interviews with Walker he seems like an incredibly genuine guy. To me it doesn't feel as if he's forcing himself to make this kind of music "just to be different/edgy", it seems completely organic to me.

they all imply that, not many artists will say they're 'pretending'.

I for one cannot wait. Being a huge Sunn O))) and O'Malley fan.

I recently saw Sunn O))) for the first time live in hobart australia at dark moro festival. There was paint chips on my clothes form the horde melting the ceiling with tonal frequency :D

Terrestrials was not my fave, had some good moments but overall did not do it or me like 100% of their previous releases.

I'm coming from the Scott Walker camp on this - I like the clip but my interest is cautious.
Walker's 1995 album 'Tilt', as difficult to penetrate as it seemed at the time, has aged remarkably well and become a firm fave of mine. Where as his last release, 2012's 'Bish Bosch', featuring fart-instrumentation and lyrics of 'reeking gonads' really put me off my dinner :?
...what subtlety?
