Closes Vol.1 (supposed) Tracks

Post by Donkey Cheese »

Recently I've been poking around in soundcloud to listen to the BoC peel session. While i was there, I noticed that someone had posted three tracks that would be from closes vol.1. Go to this link and check them out for yourself.

I've had those tracks on my computer for over a decade. I still haven't been able to determine if they are fake or real. If this gets solved, It'll be like scratching a decade long itch.

Ha- same here. I will say Focus on the Spiral has always intrigued me. That's why I still keep it around... Waiting for the mysterious itch to finally be scratched.

close3 sounds interesting, kinda boc-ish

helios sound is very weird, not sure what to say about it

focus on the spiral sounds.... i dont know :?

edit: hm, think about it this way. bocpages says that spiral is followed by 5d, and if audiotrack 6a REALLY IS 5d...

well uh, i dont know how well focus on the spiral flows after 5d. :P

AT 6 is 5d. If it's not true, then why is the 5d youtube vid in BoC's playlist

I've struggled with these for a while. Soundcloud and Shazam hold no clues. Usual 'I want to believe' stuff..but..yeah, you know how it is.

I have to say as someone with a lot of experience producing music with analogue equipment that these tracks where made on a computer.
It took a while to figure out as they had done the job really convincingly, but it isn't BoC.

Kudos to whoever made them, though.
If they can do something in that style well enough to make die hard fans start to wonder if it is real,
they actually have a lot of musical potential in my opinion.

I'm reasonably optimistic about the fact that they mentioned releasing the back catalog, but until then we're sure to see a lot more fakes.

edit: I am starting to doubt my own opinion... focus on the spiral has me wondering.

There have been quite a few topics about these tracks going back some time.
What convinces me about them is that MDG has had several years to discount them but never has done, yet he has been there to help us with lots of other tracks as 'fakes'.
Let's face it its not difficult, all he needs to do is post 'fake' just like he's done so many times before.
Until then i recon these tracks are BoC.

Close3 is the most "BoC" track out of those three tracks, has anybody figured what the vocals say? I tried reversing the track, but to no avail in deciphering anything.

Here's to hoping mdg will actually shed some light on these tracks.

The spoken part is repeated 3 times. The first 2 times are backwards and the last time is forwards. Its still hard to tell what is being said though. It sounds french possibly?

Someone said it was a line from Close Encounters of the Third Kind where someone says "He says the sun came out last night. He says it sang to him". You can sort of hear it, but part of it is reversed

Also, It seems Rough Trade tweeted the same words here..
11:42 PM - 26 Apr 13 "He says the sun came out last night. He says it sang to him."
