Do you ever........

Post by Jinjur »

Find yourself wondering about the silly things about the brothers?

I find myself pondering the following sometimes:

*Stalker mode ENAGAGE*

- What cars do they drive : I am of the opinion Fiesta and Land Rover (Old one) or Thunderbird 6

- What are their houses like : I imagine them both living on farms or in thatch roof cottages or in abandoned missile silos :P

- What do they do all day : I can't honestly see them in the studio all day, do they have something else, do they like kites

- How in the name of ultra fuck do they stay SO anonymous : Put it this way, they have friends, family, acquaintances and people that know them, in shops, in filling stations. People have mouths and some (not all) can't keep them shut. Given their recent entry into a more mainstream view (IMO of course)......how the fuck has someone not shot their mouth off about them. Do people need to sign contracts before they enter into friendship with the guys? What about people in shops where they live? This totally baffles me.......how can you be THAT invisible?

- What do close friends and family think about the music and "cultishness", do they even know

- Are they ACTUALLY real or are they a computer program?

Fuck me.......i have so much of this shit in my head......

LOL!

They aren't actually that famous. At all. You ask most people who Boards of Canada are, they won't know. Most people who have will only know the music and won't know who they are.

They're only anonymous in as much as they don't have a public profile to speak of. Most artists garner this through interviews, promotion, touring/events or social media. BoC do little or none of this. Their mates, family, associates are aware and don't bother mouthing off about it. I'm sure someone (i.e journalist) with the right knowhow could track them down fairly easily, they're not totally anonymous like, say, Banksy. But it begs the question: why would anyone feel the need to do so?
We had a dream last night. We had the same dream.

Well....I mean that they are markedly more famous than they used to be.....certainly in my circle of friends and a lot of record shops, quite mainstream ones made a good fuss about the latest album etc.

While you're at it, you can give us GPS coordinates and the time when they hold their parties. Your NIN would be cool too

I'm only going to address the car question. For 2 reasons. I'm a car guy and often wonder what artists drive. Because I can't picture them driving for some weird reason. I dunno, it's very weird, I admit. I just picture them riding on fairies and unicorns I guess.

The second reason is because Mike stated in an interview that at one point anyway, he drove a Nissan (re: the commercial their music was in, assuming it came with the gig). And again, I thought, hmmm, that's funny. Boards of Canada hoping in the ole Nissan and going to the pub. :)

Anyway, I'm walking out the back door now.

I'm sticking by them doing regular bird watching stints looking at white tailed sea eagles at Scottish reserves all geared up in The North Face shizzle.
