Peel Session CDs and broadcasts..
So I did a little searching around for information on the Peel Sessions that Boards of Canada did in 1998 and am a little confused as to what material actually exists and what is available.
My understanding right now is that there are three CD releases; Peel Session June 1998, Peel Session and Warp Peel Sessions, Volume 1. I assume that the Warp Peel Sessions and Peel Sessions are identical but what are the differences with Peel Session June 1998 other than its inclusion of XYZ, is there any difference at all?
Then there is the issue of the the actual broadcasts themselves. From what I know there was one broadcast on the 16th of July 1998, and another on the 21st. Are these any different from the CD releases and are there any differences between the two broadcasts themselves? Where does the 'Bad Day' version of Happy Cycling originate? Where can I find the full version of these broadcasts?
I'm just so confused about this whole thing, any download links or information would be appreciated.

That answered some of my questions but I still don't know if the broadcasts are still floating around or not.
I have XYZ (my copy is 8:04 and features John Peel introducing the track) without the preceding three tracks, which I can only assume comes from the 16th. I'd like the complete broadcast from the 21st with all four tracks, does anyone have this? The closest I can find is one track YT video linked in this thread. While I'm requesting this I may as well ask for the broadcast with the interview on the 16th too if anyone has it.

AFAIK the broadcasts themselves are not around at all.
BBC aired the Peel Session last year I think, but I think that Happy Cycling was the regular version. When they aired it most recently, XYZ didn't have anyone speaking on the track, so that was cool.
Discogs says that there are only 5 copies of the FULL CDs http://www.discogs.com/Boards-Of-Canada ... se/3281554 made by the band so I wouldn't count getting the full broadcast intact.
The commercially released versions of Peel Session have the happy day version of Happy Cycling, Aquarius v 3 and Olson v 3. So if you want the best quality of Olson and Aquarius, get one of the CDs. They're pretty cheap. Bleep also sells the digital version of Peel Session which is exactly like the physical release.

I have no idea. The original US versions of MHTRTC don't have Happy Cycling. Maybe US means something else?Vostok wrote:but then why would it say "US version"?Najlepsiejszy wrote:Nah, the CD title is "Peel Session" specifically so it's probably the Peel Session originalVostok wrote: yeah

Oh right. Sorry
So is the version on your CDs and vinyls just like the version on Peel Session? If yes then that's interesting. They didn't release Happy Cycling in Europe in 1998 and it's here on CDs after the 2004 represses and it's the 2nd version. The 2013 vinyls still don't have Happy Cycling afaik
