This was a really great track to wake up to haha. My only critiques are pretty subjective, like I would've liked to hear something come into the mix sooner that played off of the rhythm. Otherwise, awesome work!

super funky, I particularly like that resonant "bwOOWW" sound that pops up every now and then.. I don't know how to describe it other than it sounds like a heavily affected guitar chord..

A lot of my equipment is having issues, so I'm just playing around with short improv stuff on this organ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GoZgy3 ... QQ&index=1

This is nice. I love the sound coming from that machine (I want one!) and the riff is very emotional. I do see you still have a couple of fingers/milliseconds left to do some more stuff with it. Also the watermark is really interesting, though quite large.

I covered a part of billy holiday's gloomy sunday- Its a bit silly.

haha yeah I don't know what I was thinking when I slapped that big image in there.
that song works really well in a heavier production, really like those low bursts of strings (I think?) also, is that you singing? if so I'm impressed!

just uploaded this hodgepodge of sounds, more of an exercise in a few different directions than anything. It's quieter than I intended but ehhhh https://soundcloud.com/wesley-cathon/fever-dreamer

So this is what I'm working on at the moment:

I'm pretty happy with the structure (except for the ending which I'm struggling to write a section for.

Mainly looking for any mixing and or compositional tips that any of you fine audiophiles can offer me. I'm happy with how the verse section(parts without live bass) is filled out by the filtering high hats, I'm not sure where on this track requires work, unsure whether to add some vocals, whether I should put them on myself or find a decent female vocalist to do some.

I was initially struggling with dynamics as well and the sections sounding too robotic on transitions but some live Djembe helped move that along some what.

Going to listen to some of your tracks and comment via sound cloud this morning, let us know what you think guys,

Tom

Hey guys,

I'd like to share a collab tune I did alongside the very talented Shane Anthony, and also a recent enough one of my own (I'm not sure if I posted it here, apologies if so)

I made videos for both, and think they work better with the videos, if you like what you hear, my Soundcloud link is in my signature. Be grateful if any of you guys on Soundcloud may have a listen and I'll be sure to check your work also of course!

Also, more stuff in the pipeline from myself and Shane in the very near future. Launching a new Soundcloud in the next day or two for or collab project, entitled 'nineteen eighty six'.

Cheers!

Drifting (collab with Shane) -

Oculus Drift -

Thanks very much to all who check, and great stuff on this thread, as usual ha :)

Cheers, and cheers for the clone comment....

A lot of artists start out making music inspired by those they admire. BoC themselves are no exception. I think few are. Clone is a bit of a harsh word, but you can hear the influence no doubt, albeit nothing on the brother's skills. Many artists have a very BoC-ish sound, personally, I don't consider them clones, with the exception of one or two lesser know guys, but to each their own and let 'em have at it, I say.

Also guys, for those interested, myself and Shane Anthony have launched our new collaborative project, 'nineteen eighty six', just yesterday.

If you'd like to check out our stuff, I'll throw some links below :) More coming really soon. Thanks!!

Bit of a change of name for me. I got tired of the Bright Pylon alias. Too obvious a BoC/Christ. reference. In my defence, I had to come up with a name for myself when I submitted something for OoT 4 and it stuck.

This track was originally the closer on an album of stuff that I played to the Twoism crew in Dorset earlier this month. In that context I knew it didn't fit the mood of the rest of the album so it got orphaned. :)
