Petition for BOC.

Hi, my names is Yuri Efimov.
If someone of BOC friends will support me and someone of BOC producers hear me I want to offer to create next album with happy and joyous tones.
We all have sic times with deep melancholy. And we all have happy moments of being when peacock tail stands before our eyes. So, I feel many of us know our emotions not as good as we want. And it could be so higher like scores of kid who love today and will love forever.
I know we listen Boards of Canda with warm love and guys create sometnig special for us always. And I ask Boards of Canda to create happy album which will make sunshine recorders from us.

to be honest, I'd love a trippy heartwarming soul-crushing tear inducing goosebumping album.
(which is a bit of both)

Hell, even Tomorrows Harvest had some happy sounding songs on it. But unfortunately I don't think they are in a place in their music making careers where everything is happy go lucky like it once was. They have explicitly stated that their world views have taken a downward turn before making this album, and it is showing in the music they are making. I cant see them breaking from that for their next record whenever that MIGHT happen.

But who knows, maybe theyll surprise us and do something completely different....again

Yes to more uplifting positive vibes & especially after tomorrow's harvest. The world desperately needs some positive vibes with all that's going on right now.

Yes indeed. Perhaps this is why I long for reissues of the early stuff. There was an innocence and naive charm which I love about much of the music on R35TT and the OT tapes, and right through to MHTRTC. While TH is a very accomplished and clever piece of work, it's clear the boys are now far more cynical and 'knowing' (as I suppose we all are sooner or later), and in many ways I can't imagine where they go next with new material

Seeing as they're artists that put incredible (http://bocpages.org/wiki/Tomorrow's_Har ... g_Campaign) amounts of time and effort into their work, I think they can create and release whatever they're feeling.

I'd rather hear what they come up with than what the fans tell them to create.

Also, TCH was their 'happy' album and it's my least favourite by a considerable margin

I would love to hear more uplifting stuff like poppy seed reprise or roygbiv for example but yeah ^ What Waterbagel said. Leave them to their creativity, its always going to be epic. And anyway, a big part of their charm is creating music that is bitter sweet, a balance almost between dark and light or dipping in and out of both

Art shouldn't be as oversimplified as "happy" or "sad". Life is nuanced, and art should be just as emotionally complicated as the people who make it and appreciate it.

I do not necessarily want a "happy" album, but i would like a "good" album.

TH did not grow on me over time like I had hoped, has way too many weak points; overall would be a good soundtrack to a really depressing documentary but lacks the depth, substance, and growth of a good album.

People might discredit TCH for it being too cheesy but to me it is the album with the most replay value for the most songs. TH I have no interest in replaying any songs any time soon. It will be collecting dust. I think maybe once a year I will listen to it in full and then put it away again.

In my case, swap TCH for TH in the above statement and that's how I feel about things (replace "depressing documentary" with "hippie documentary"). TH was a huge sigh of relief to me, showing that they still had it. "It"/musical taste is subjective though, it goes to show their enduring quality if everything they've done is loved the most by somebody somewhere.

I really enjoyed TH as a whole, but Nothing is Real shows that they can get back to that place I love the most about them if they choose to. It would be nice to see them showcase that type of sound more on their next release, but on the other hand, I wouldn't want them to keep repeating themselves - every one of their albums has been very different than the one before it.

If you don't like it, I'm sure in another 8 years or so they will make something that you do like.
