Its going to be awesome.

Mine can run Debian too (from what I read, it has the same insides with Revo), the only thing that keeps me monkeying around with that is the lack of bluetooth/wifi/PCMCIA... if it had ANY of those, it would really be a functional cyberpunk accessory if I installed Debian on it. As it is, it's just a very efficient replacement for a notebook (hey, it has a WORD PROCESSOR, something I haven't seen on android/iphone yet... no, TEXT EDITORs don't count!). In the world of fax and pager, this device was the king yo!

Raspberry Pi sounds really cool, check out if you can install Jack for audio and then try Hexter, a very good DX7 simulator. It's very lightweight and the quality is exquisite.

On an unrelated note...speaking of Linix distrox/Unix-likes and PDAs...I guess this wouldn't count so much as a PDA, but it's built a little bit like a mix between one and one of those mobile PCs that were a thing for about a year (I have a Windows CE one sitting in my house somewhere, in a drawer) - even though I just bought a new laptop to a have a full computer on trips, I really, really want to save some extra cash and get an OpenPandora. Cupz, you'd brought that up before and that's been an interest of mine for years. It's not so much the aspect of having a full computer (that is nice) but more just...I mean I can store and play a full library of 8-bit/16-bit/32-bit/64-bit games FUNCTIONALLY (that includes emulators that work and joysticks/buttons) and also do everything that most devices can do like watch video or go online. In my pocket.

A NES/Amiga/PC-Engine/SNES/PSX/N64/[insert whatever emulator available that interests you] and basic Linux computer...in my pocket.

Fucking astonishing. Wish they weren't so expensive.

I do have a computer for business, but the phone acts as a more accessible way to get things done.

Typing out a long email? Sure, I'll use the computer.

Reaching out to a musician, asking if they want to help out on a track? Texting or Skype is the way to go and 9/10 I'm doing that from my phone. I also work three jobs, so I can't lug my laptop from job to job, and even if I did, I haven't much time in between tasks to use it.

The phone is just convenience, and that convenience can get the best of me. And when it does, I hate its guts. That's all.

I wouldn't mind trying to see if I could make it just by using a Razr for a year. But, I know that for the amount of productivity I'd gain, I'd also lose it in certain aspects by not having that accessibility that smart phones bring.

It's a damn double edged sword! haha

phone for business is ideal, if you just need to get plans sorted a phone call is great, so is instant messaging, but we shouldn't encourage ditching business computers. sometimes long form is required, and dumbing down all business conversations to text messages will probably be to the detriment of your business.
