Just a quick update...
I wont be able to view it myself, let alone duplicate it for some time, but just wanted to lot to know this is what the film can looks like.
Even that looks cool. I did take a look at the quality of the film stock real quick and it looks nice.
My plan is to dupe it in 4K sometime in the future. (Yes, I have the kit for that...)
hah, awesome. well, there you go folks. its been under our noses for about a month. Guess I dont have to dupe it for you all now. Saves a lot of work for me... Im still treasuring my copy!

Ripping my copy to a pc is still on my to do list, I've had a real headache with it. I have an old Belkin device that converts video to pc format, after much searching on the internet for updated drivers conceded that it will only run on windows xp or older so after awhile managed to hunt down an old laptop with xp on. Next had to find a video player, borrowed my mothers old one which decided it didn't like the tape and would stop a 22mins and eject the tape everytime i tried playing it, finally cut my losses and tried to save what I had managed to record, only for the program I was using on the old laptop to freeze and crash every time I tried this! managed to get another video player from freecycle but unfortunately only has a scart out whereas the converter uses either composite or s-video, using an adaptor didn't work. Have given the project a rest for awhile and moved on but will definitely come back to it soon, hopefully be able to chuck a small amount of money at it next time, get a new converter and a more appropriate vhs player

Dang it! Well, I guess thats what you expect from a prof. The guy uploaded it for his earth science class at a college in Los Angeles. Supposed to be just for his class. you got that straight! the sub just turned 50 this year! funny though, as no actual component on it is original. but the spirit remains. I love that thing. alvin & jason jr was what i made of legos all the time as a kid. i may have actually even seen this film before but was too young to remember it. my mom had jacques cousteau and nat geo specials on all the time when i was small. that stuff just seeped in like a virus i guess! funny enough, a new song in my lil shortlist is inspired by the palomares incident.

People that can see the full 'dive' video thats country blocked for me. NOT the (excellent) video of it recut to Dandelion. When Leslie Nielson delivers the line about the preperation for a dive being a tense time, is his voice as low in pitch as it is on the track?
