Storing your growing collection

It's taken a few years, but my collection is now getting to the point where milk crates just aren't enough anymore.

Anyone got any pics/ideas for vinyl storage en masse? I've seen some cabinets and such, and I'm even thinking about building my own over winter break. Just wanted to get some ideas and maybe even some feedback.

I've seen ones like this that seem simple enough to build:

Though I also like the "put-things-on-top"-ability of cabinets like this:

EDIT: also, bonus points for ideas that won't leave my back aching. Being 6'3 (190cm for you metrix) and having to hunch over just to find some my Plaid collection gets tiring after a while

I use an IKEA Expedit. I think they recently amended the range/changed it's name but it works a treat. I have the 4x4 version, rather than the 5x5 shown below, but I'm 6'1" and have no problems. Each space takes at least 50-70 LPs comfortably, depending on whether you're talking single width, double width etc.

Relatively cheap price wise, easy to put together, available in a range of colours and styles.

I have just 3 copies of Syro at hand. The rest I hid in holes dug at random places out in the country.

Coincidentally..

..I get an out-of-the-blue recommendation from my record store guy about a duo storage-display option that takes the form of a kickstarter from my own gosh-dern' hometown. Talk about serendipity.

Thing looks slick and secure. I love it. Definitely getting one

40 bucks for a piece of bent metal looks a bit much to me...
For that price i'll make one myself.

Be sure to place it the right way, and mount it to a wall if you want to stuff it completely with vinyl...
