Specific situation that BoC was the perfect soundtrack for?

my username is named after the space where I had my first experiences listening to Boards of Canada
its a small closet-like space... in fact, it practically is a closet... where i grew up hanging out with my dearest friends throughout high school
i remember one time we had the lights out before my friend whose house it was was leaving for our first year of college... he is who also introduced me to BOC in the first place. so BOC was almost analogous with this space. we were listening to TCH and I distinctly remember floating by the end of the record... the sensation was so strong. At this moment I remember Tears From The Compound Eye sounding alive... I was feeling the non-verbal communication it a way where my interpretation and feeling of the communication didn't translate into words at all... it just remained non-verbal. all feeling. this is rare for me.
then Macquarie Ridge came on and any line between subject and object just disappeared. Totally blissed out. It kind makes sense to interpret it now like I was feeling the stars that encapsulate the actual Macquarie Ridge in New Zealand.... even though the Macquarie ridge is a fault line on the ocean floor. I didn't find out that the Macquarie Ridge wasn't a terrestrial place until after this experience. The feeling of being deep underwater also makes sense. I guess there isn't that much of a difference between the deep ocean and space?
this was also at a time of transition leaving high school for college
I haven't listened to that track proper in years because that experience was so heavy, always felt like I wanted to keep it in that special place. Going to wait until I have the Japanese disc to listen to it again.
so back to the question–a small pitch black room!
just looked up some Macquarie ridge images for the first time... there is a Macquarie Island too. He is a photo of a hut on the island... no roads.

Spending the night beneath an Aurora Borealis display whilst camping at Red Point beach, with the tune playing. One of the best moments of my life I think.

There are many but...
Driving to work this morning through the country side with low laying mist and the hazy rising sun breaking through, listening to 'slow this bird down'. Lovely start to the day, very surreal and dream like.
Walking on my own through the Andes mountains towards Machu Picchu listening to 'forest moon' was a pretty special moment.
Chilling out in Dorset with a campfire and a bunch people from this forum was very hard to beat, particularly when all sat along a cliff edge staring to the dark abyss while listening to 'over the horizon radar' with the campfire crackling behind us.. bloody awesome.

When I was trippin on shrooms and I heard for the first time Gyroscope at my house, thought that my stereo system is broken, heh
Also when come back after hard day at work, turn off the lights and just listen to IABPOIC for the first time to, almost absorb every sound, I think when fall in love with the bands music.
Listening to Reach For The Dead for the first time, late spring, it's almost summer, just hearing this cold Terminator like apocalyptic vibes for the first time was something special

Listening to Dayvan Cowboy at the Grand Canyon with a stupefied look of awe on my face, lol.
Listening to A Beautiful Place out in the Country at my folk's country home (a place of many happy childhood memories) by myself located about 30 minutes away from the Branch Davidian massacre site.

A few months ago I had finally visited the beach for the first time in about 9 years, but this time it was a different beach with a different group of people. We were preparing to start driving, had tents and everything ready. When we started driving towards the beach I played TCH, the entire time felt so nostalgic and warm to when I used to go to the beach every summer. When I was in the car I had fallen asleep past Sherbert Head and the dreams I had were very lucid and beach-like. I woke up when the album ended and my friends who had never heard the album said that it made them feel amazing. We then listened to Geogaddi.

Every day during the school year I walk home. The town I live in is a very small and cozy, with just few little shops downtown (a coffee shop, a couple antique stores, a barber shop etc.). So you can imagine how great it was when I was walking home on the first truly crisp and cool autumn day and Peacock Tail came on.

Usually BOC music is too picturesque and in the same time too abstract for me to link it with any kind of tangible things. But...growing up close to the buried in fields and forests military airport in mid 80's, constant roar of Sukhois in the air and endless wondering how this secluded and guarded place might really look like suddenly become resurrected within TH texture. A case of sudden reversion to the time of which I've almost forgotten. It might have something to do with the Eastern Block reality at the time too (and any hints to it hidden on TH). But it's more about this partly abstract, partly real disquiet landscape of clear blue and black fumes over some hidden military environment at the end of a very hot, dusty summer day.
