It's close but the notes are different and it's certainly not sampled. Sounds very similar though and wouldn't be at all surprised if White Cyclosa was inspired by this and they were attempting to recreate that feel.

This one sounds more 'spooky' than WC to me, which just sounds kind of sad and haunting.

Day of the Dead's opening theme sounds influential too:

I found the goblin track just searching for samples for my own band

it's more the overall feel than note comparison

Hey, good find! I think I remember some scores (or pieces of them) with a similar note progression in a couple more 70's/80's films too. Not sure if the Sandison's were directly referencing a film or films or if they were toying with the idea of that style of score to achieve a certain effect (it was kind of a trope of the time, like the minimalist booming orchestra scores that Christopher Nolan helped popularize recently)? Probably both is my guess, but who knows? Interesting stuff.
