Sorry, that's clearly not Mike or Marcus in the poster--it's the blonde girl on the left from the album cover (or back, the side that has "skam" written on it). It's the same terrain in the background, and that's the same hoodie. My guess: both the cover art and the poster are stills from the same home movie.

that's 100% not them on the album art...

in fact there's never been any indication they've ever once placed themselves inside any of their album art, ever

it doesn't necessarily feel louder... just less balanced and even . wonder the reason, if any, behind the diff approach
My guess so far is a couple of things happened during the remaster that affect this--the tracks were re-equalized (sounds like some low frequencies were emphasized) and the signal amplitude was ramped up...too far, beyond the ability of the capture formats to preserve the original amplitude differences and peaks. The motive might be a combo of the engineer(s)'s general approach to things, vision of what the sound 'should be', 'prevailing trends in engineering', plus who knows what else. I would hope in that role I'd ignore these things and focus on what the music is telling me about what the artist originally intended, not what I think it should sound like. A tall order, and I love the basic idea of doing the remaster, but I think there's room for improvement on what was done. I would have never interpreted the original recording as the bros favoring lower frequencies to that degree. To my weak ears the emphasis slightly diminishes the other sounds on most tracks, especially in comparison to the original. It is cool to see the emotion the remaster evokes though (even w/me on 'Everything You Do is a Balloon'), there's a lot of happiness!

Side note--listening to these closely, I noticed something about Winamp's EQ preamp. At least on my setup it distorts the signal insanely. The difference is scary. I turned it off, but I'm still feeling a little suspicious, the idea of a digital player's quality never occurred to me. Too funny, like how many times in the past has analog player quality bitten or helped us  ?

I have the original on CD already, I'm wondering if it's worth buying again. Is it really worth it?

Contact the seller and ask what's happening although did they advertise it with the MP3 too, or just the vinyl? Not sure where you'd stand if they didn't mention the download card on their listing. Good luck!

Depends how much you care about sound quality. IMO it does sound a lot better, and according to MDG it was remastered by the band themselves, so it sounds exactly as they intended it to.

Anyway, if you decide you don't want it you can probably sell it in a couple of years for more than you paid!

Howeveeeer....re-recorded? Yep, looks like they've played it again

MDG, why did they switch the stereo channels?

The L-R channels had somehow been reversed during the cutting process back in 1996, so it was actually wrong on the original release and subsequent re-presses. The 1996 cut had also introduced audible distortion to the recordings. This 2014 edition was cleaned up and remastered by M&M and then re-cut, so the new version is in fact the definitive version - exactly as it sounds on the band's own masters.

Should the vinyl from bleep/skam/wherever you buy it come with one of those download cards with a code for bleep? And how are the mp3s, if you buy it from the skam website, delivered? Thanks

If you bought it from Bleep you'll have the downloads waiting in your account.
