This is what its all about
Sagan: In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.
Basinski: I wanted Cascade to become this crystalline organism like a star or a liquid crystal spaceship, a jellyfish traveling through the galaxy…

I don't know if this is a "fandom" thing or it's like tracking down the obscure samples... it just seems to me like the music and the visuals (what little we have of them, shit I wish there were more visuals!) are these aged, memory-worn things that capture a feeling of a place and time that was there for a snapshot and is somehow gone. I dunno you see other people doing it with war pictures, interposing them with the modern day view... same thing I think. Its like there's this pull to go and find where that picture came from, not to say "I've been in the same place" but to say "this place still exists".

Great find! For me Twin Peaks is to TV series what Boards of Canada is for music, both as my favorite in the their respective media type. I would totally recommend Twin Peaks to any Boards of Canada fan.jcnporter wrote:Rewatching Twin Peaks at the moment, came across this and with a chuckle, it reminded me of this thread.
The lengths people go to in the name of fandom. Love it.
