I understand your choice. gigging can be a pain in the arse. All the arrangements/plans/set-up, transport,making sure all the gear is working never mind a good healthy dose of nerve's before a show, hoping for a decent audience and a good reaction, yeh! why bother sometimes.But at the end of the day, there is nothing like the high of performing your own material , being accepted and having a great show, it is a thrill like no other
I really enjoy writing and recording, I just love it, but it,s so good to get out and perform it,especially if you are useing a lot of fancy tech.
I'm a drummer. There's little fancy about that....
I think a more satisfactory BOC live performance would need an augmented line up.
I'm for hire too if they need a drummer/bassist/keyboardist sensitive to their music!
A drummer Eh! yeh I didn't think to ask what you played . But don't you just love getting up there ,holding the band together and belting fuck out those drums or a you a bit more technical than that.

I have 'tubthumping' experience from my youthful days ( ) but it's not really where I'm at these days. Although, that style of drumming is sitting nicely in a box in my loft that I can get out should I ever need it...
HaHa! wait for it im a singer/vocalist been in Quite A few bands over the years. Been the Lead vocalist in a few . Been one of three front men in a 10 piece line-up with brass etc,playing Ska/reggae drum&bass, hip hop. now part of a duo with a long time collaborator mainly electronic. I play and write on keyboards and a bit of drums/percussion,but we have friends to augment our line-up live. its easier as a duo to write and record. Less egos to deal with and people who aren't really commited enough

Great! I hear you re: egos and commited members! I'm lucky to still be working with the same friends/guys I met whilst at college. But other projects have come and gone for those very reasons.

Well, no, which is my point. It's not about an objective analysis of what's in each tune, anyone can load a tune up with detail and noise, or at the other end of the spectrum, play a few notes and call it ambient or drone. But if you're not hearing it, you're not hearing it, fair enough.

Yea! There are a few other Bibio session videos on Youtube that are equally as awesome.
I don't mind whether a multi - instrumental act uses a band or not.
Dan snaith - Caribou plays everything on his albums give or take the odd guest instrumentalist,
but still decides to go out live as a 4 piece and it works well, great to watch. they play it like the album version with maybe a smidgen of improvisation.
All I originally stated was that BOC said in an interview that they had been rehearsing with a few friends with a view of maybe going out as an altered line up to maybe play some gigs. whether they do so and how they choose to do so is entirely up to them. I really hope they do.

I was listening to geogaddi the other day and noticed that mellodicaly and structruly it's very playfull, how they brake the song and then comeback after with new dettails, like on Sunshine Recored, it's really pleasing and involving. I think Tomorrow's Harvest is different album, I very like the concept, I think that the band wanted to go with hardcore (limited) ammount of tools and make something experimental and on the other side, simple, because when you have limitation in tools you forced to invent things, I think it's a special way to make music.
