One of my all time favs is Dune 2000 - the game had "March into battle" songs:
But when nothing happened, the soundtrack somehow changed and you heard these slower tracks while constructing your base or waiting for money:
Another game from my childhood was Imperium Galactica II, a sci-fi RTS game - and I loved the soundtrack! Actually, "Sundown" from TH always reminds me of the music of this game

Sorry for my bad english.

I'm glad this thread is on page 2 now, the previous one destroyed my browser with all the embeds.
Throw away your smartphone.

Yeah, we discussed this very issue in the run up to the new website being launched. In the end we figured you guys would work out yourselves about being sparing with your embeds

There are numerous addons for different browsers which make it so you need to click an embed to launch flash. It helps with threads like these.Mexicola wrote:Yeah, we discussed this very issue in the run up to the new website being launched. I don't play many games, but these are two of my favourites:

I completed 1 + 2 on the Amiga back in the day.Najlepsiejszy wrote:I hope you DID play the remake. It's amazingFortonServices wrote:

Then I completed 3 + 4 on PC, probably about 10 years ago.
Then about 4 months ago I re-did 1 + 2. It was the remake, I think, but I changed the settings so it was just like the old one. I didn't want fancy graphics and irritating voice actors getting in the way of my nostalgia trip.
Bear in mind I know nothing about computer games. I stopped playing them after I stopped having an Amiga. I just like to go back to Monkey Island occasionally, because it's wonderful.

Betacord: Nice one!! How could I forget Streets of Rage 1 & 2 especially. Very nostalgic games for me with awesome music. Havnt played them for years but still the tracks pop into my head. Now I really want to re-play them.
Ther is a Track by Amon Tobin, I cant remember the title for the life of me but it sounds just like the music from one of the boat levels, im certain streets of rage was an influence...ill try find the piece of music.

There's a bit in the theme music to Fallout that sounds just like SOTL. Very subtle use of horns. What a game too.

Graphics are totally subjective and I wish there was a way to beat the remakes with voice acting, new pointer and old graphics. However, I think that the voice acting was great. Its very cheesy, but if you remember the end of the 2nd game, it all makes sense and the VO is great by itself, too, because it's really funny. Guybrush's voice in the 1st game to me made the whole swordfighting sequence. Try the voice acting for just a whileFortonServices wrote:I completed 1 + 2 on the Amiga back in the day.Najlepsiejszy wrote:I hope you DID play the remake. It's amazingFortonServices wrote:

Tak, jestem Polakiem. To dla obcokrajowca uczącego się polskiego dosyć złożony żart. Mój nick pochodzi o słowa "dobry" i jego stopni: "lepszy", "najlepszy". Dzieci czasami robią błąd i mówią "lepsiejszy" zamiast "lepszy". "Najlepsiejszy" jest więc połączeniem "najlepszy" i "lepsiejszy".
Yes, I'm Polish. It's a pretty complex joke for a foreigner who's learning Polish. My nick comes from the word "good", and its grades: "better", "the best". Children sometimes make a mistake and say "betterest" than "better". "Najlepsiejszy" is thus a connection of two expressions: "the best" and "betterest": "the bestest"
Powodzenia!

Re: Favorite video game music :)
It's "na zdrowie". I'd recommend first learning how to say "na zdarowie" (that's how you say it in Russian) and then begin taking the extra "a" out of the expression.
Polish grammar is hard, but there are harder languages, tbh lol. Even in my previous post I've forgot to put "rather" in front of "than". There are no Perfect tenses (Past Perfect theoretically exists, but I agree with Jan Miodek here- it doesn't exist in Polish nowadays), pronunciation is very easy and there are lots of Poles and Polish organizations around the world where you can practice some more.
I'm sure this guy will give you some tips http://www.linguatrek.com/

back on topic: the witcher soundtrack is so dramatic but it sounds good, as someone that watches a lot of gameplay its nice to have some drama sometimes, still not got a patch on dying light though, so impressed with that at the moment
