Nice first purchase too by the way. I'm guessing that was a while ago?

I'm Josh, I'm 18, and I blame my friend for my obsession. Well, not an obsession, but a love. I'm fairly new to the community, Been following for a few months. Had another account under the name 'Farwell Fire', and I must have done it when I was drunk (actually I was), because I didn't realize I spelled Farewell wrong. I like the name aquarius more anyway.
It's true everything you do is a balloon, in the end we all go pop.
Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello hello, name's Alex. My main moniker on the internet is Linkrulezall, and I have a couple others in other places. My dad was the one who first got me into BoC back in 2002, since he had most of Music Has The Right To Children on his iPod at the time and we used to listen to it on long car journeys. Fast forward to today and Boards of Canada has become one of my favorite music groups of all time. I've got pretty much every available release from them in my WinAmp library, and am always looking out to see if the pre-Twoism releases have come out anywhere.
It also took me about 12 tries to pass the captcha test on the way in because I didn't realize that I was supposed to be leaving out the apostrophe. Sometimes things are just a bit odd like that.

If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?

Hello, I'm Lucas from Belgium. Together with Vincent (username : Koeeoaddi There) I'm actually writing a book on BoC, which will be first written in our mother tongue, i.e. French. So I'm here to get additional information on my all-time favourite band and to discover this great community.

I've always wanted someone to make a documentary of sorts on them. Something that does a good job of explaining what they are about and what makes them so unique.

Welcome Lucas, Vincent and Alex. It's good to have people from all over still coming to this forum. Also be sure to check out BOC Pages if you haven't already. Fredd-E has done a great job with this internet gem for BoC fans. The link is at the top of the page.
You'll be happy to hear that there are rumblings of BoC activity. Stay tuned to this forum for all the news and speculation.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello there,
My name is José Guilherme, I'm from Portugal, and I recently started this project called Madrenome Records. It's a non-profit DIY netlabel that focuses on techno and IDM, but also on a lot of electronic stuff. I'm still looking for artists to join the roaster, so, if you want to join, send me an email to madrenome.records@gmail.com, with your songs. I have a tumblog at madrenomerecords.tumblr.com if you want to check it (understand that, at this embryonic point, "it" still means nothing.
) out.
I also joined Twoism because I want to talk with other people that share the same tastes on electronic music than me, and also for that BoC are one of my favourite bands.
I really love their fresh, downtempo sound, and they inspired me a lot to start the netlabel and to make my own songs.
Hope I didn't waste your time, seeya later folks!

Re: Introduce Yourself
I'm James, live in the Smoky Mountains. I used to attempt to write a lot of trip hop in the early 90's. There was something always wrong with it as no one could sing over it and at times is sounded too 80's. Fast forward to the late 90's and someone plays Hi Scores for me. This was it. This was the type of music that came out of me naturally. Down tempo music didn't have to have a singer. BoC has become one of my top 3 artist (Don't ask the other two) and changed the way I think about music.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Not far off. Yngwie Malmsteen and The Sundays. Them along with BoC hit me at different times of my life to change the way I look at music. I'm not saying they are the greatest of all time, just huge influences on me. I of course have outgrown some of it, but it got me here, for better or worse.Aerial Boundaries wrote:Tiny Tim and 2pacFortonServices wrote:Who are the other two?Amo wrote:I'm James, live in the Smoky Mountains. Hey, I was 12 years old. Cut me some slack.
Re: Introduce Yourself
Lol, it's fine. I play guitar and I'm 41. Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, et al will always hold a cheesy place in my heart man!
