Spring Cleaning 2015

Post by Cupz »

So I'm cleaning the shit out of my house, and are gonna redecorate, and I have the feeling some of you will do the same. Any music to accompany me?

So far:

St Germain - Tourist (my mother played this when she cleaned)

hmmm hi cupz imo melodic music thats not to loud or energic, but still has a driving percussion part would be best 4 spring cleaning.... sounds perfoct for new age music!!

dancing fantasy - midnight blvd
patrick o'hearn = rivers gonna rise
quiet force - flow
medwyn goodall - basicly any early 90s album like druid, way of the dolphin, medicine woman etc etc

or if ur a new age hater try something by jörg burger like this:

triola - im fünftonraum
the modernist - explosion 1999/2000 (alomost the same album just 1's from europe and 1's from usa)
burger / ink - las vegas (with wolfgang voigt aka gas)

or just go with aphex twin saw 85-92 type stuff i guess

I like cleaning up to Crack The Skye by Mastodon. If you're not familiar with it, it's a concept album about a quadrapalegic boy who uses astral projection to travel outside his body. But he goes too far, flies too close to the sun, and burns away the golden umbilical cord that attaches his astral body to his physical one. So he's sort of drifting in the ether. Then a bunch of wizards, headed by Rasputin, are trying to contact spirits. They find him, and realise he is not a spirit, but has just become detached from his physical body. So they try to help him. Rasputin predicts that he will be killed, so he uses this to become a spirit himself and help guide the boy back to his body.

I don't really like metal, but I absolutely love this album.

And if you put it on whilst doing housework, it adds a real weight and importance to anything you do. You don't feel like you're hoovering. You feel like you're slaying a dragon or something.

Good suggestions so far, though I'm not into metal. The new age was fun! Maybe you guys can post playlists also :D

Talk Talk's 'Laughing Stock' is a great album for bringing forth the gentle change of springtime winds, I can only imagine it'd be great for spring cleaning! Once you get to New Grass you'll know exactly what I mean.

Nothing gets me motivated to clean house quite like the Businessfunk Mixes by Datassette.
