Also maybe someone else noticed it, but I noticed it a long time ago- radio interference in New Seeds, left channel. Starts at 3:40

Re: Things you notice after years of listening
I just realized the meaning of the title "the color of the fire."
Its ORANGE. Oh my god I feel like a dolt for not getting the reference.
Also, just realised there are birds chirping in Music Is Math.

Look at this:

Notice how number 3. is 'The Color of the Fire'. And the part labelled with the color 3 is... Turquoise Hexagon Sun.
Hence I've always thought since seeing that that the color of the fire is turquoise. Makes sense no?

I don't know what to think, man.

Well hey I'm not saying it is definitive, but if they are labelling a turquoise hexagon sun as the color of the fire, I think it is pretty likely.maxd98 wrote:I don't know what to think, man.
I take the whole thing as just another little in-joke from them, it makes me chuckle

"touch touch touch touch" used in the remix is in this song
Re: Things you notice after years of listening
The 'click track' which is literal clicking of fingers in '84 pontiac dream starting at around 2:10. Love it.

Re: Things you notice after years of listening
I can't make this out but I am hearing a sound similar to stepping in a puddle or pushing on a wet sponge around this same time (the 6th note or so)... first time I've noticed it. This is why Headphase is hands-down my favorite album. It's lushness and multitudes of layers simply cannot be beat.Valotonin wrote:The 'click track' which is literal clicking of fingers in '84 pontiac dream starting at around 2:10. Love it.

And I feel like a dope for not realizing that until now.maxd98 wrote:I just realized the meaning of the title "the color of the fire."

It's true everything you do is a balloon, in the end we all go pop.
Re: Things you notice after years of listening
I am bad at timings so I will say if you count 1-4 in time with the drum track it comes at every three and a third (at 2:10 onwards).ryetronics wrote:I can't make this out but I am hearing a sound similar to stepping in a puddle or pushing on a wet sponge around this same time (the 6th note or so)... first time I've noticed it. This must sound pretty primitive to people who like and create elaborate electronic music. I apologise.
I still haven't been able to find the sound you are talking about. Agreed that campfire has layers it can take someone their whole life to fully understand.
Re: Things you notice after years of listening
Something I've noticed a while ago is that a few tracks from the B side of R35 sound similar in style as Solarium from OTV2, such as - B01, B02, B07, B18, and B20. I feel like these tracks were from a separate album we've never heard of or from an era where BoC wasn't "BoC." Just my thoughts.

I always thought it was called that because "Hexagon" seems to me that it is referring to a camera's aperture.Aerial Boundaries wrote:I'm not so sure.maxd98 wrote:I just realized the meaning of the title "the color of the fire."

in the track, julie and candy. there is a flute that plays a loop every few seconds, throughout the entire track. its being played very faintly in the background, and i am sure it took you guys plenty of listens to notice, or maybe some of you havent noticed it yet, and now you will after reading this

I am not sure why you are referring to the Hexagon part. I am just talking about what 'the color of the fire' supposedly is.TOYOTAセ wrote:I always thought it was called that because "Hexagon" seems to me that it is referring to a camera's aperture.Aerial Boundaries wrote:I'm not so sure.maxd98 wrote:I just realized the meaning of the title "the color of the fire."

My reasoning is thus: In that colour by numbers insert, they put in a 'Turquoise Hexagon Sun', which they have labelled as such. They have then instructed us to color it with 'The Color of the Fire'. So, if it is a turquoise hexagon sun, and the color in said sun is also 'The Color of the Fire', then 'The Color of the Fire' is turquoise.
I am not sure why no one else sees it as clearly as I do, they've basically told us what it is there.

First moments in Reach For The Dead remind me of this:

Re: Things you notice after years of listening
Mongolian throat singing I believe? Amazing to hear live, they get two notes from the same voice at the same time! Oh, and I was made to wear one of those hats in Mongolia. Like a tourist prick lol
