Personally, I *love* that you have a BoC-esque sound to your music. I don't see any issue at all with someone else producing music that sounds like the music Boards of Canada created. For me it's all about the end result, which is the entertainment and enjoyment via my senses of the harmonic medium of music which alters my consciousness in ways nothing else can. The nostalgic psychedelic downtempo and ambient sounds of music like that Boards of Canada is known for should not be in the sole ownership of them or any other artist or collection of artists. People get too lost in the thicket of what doesn't really matter in the end. If you enjoy producing it then keep creating it. I have no qualms about imitating BoC's style when I made Kaleidoscopic Gaia years ago because I created what brings me enjoyment and if others enjoy it as well then that makes me happy but it is not my modus operandi and don't think a good artist is one that only creates that which they think others want but rather that which is flowing through them looking for a way out via an expressive form such as music.
