Tunes you would like to hear BOC cover

Post by jamesyboyy »

Last night I was listening to Black Sabbath Vol 4 and when Laguna Sunrise came on made me think a little of a BOC ambient/interlude track and I thought "I'd love to hear BOC riff on this melody". Are there any songs you'd like to hear to get the BOC treatment? Not a remix but a from-scratch cover.
If you don't have the dik sometime, then the art is not about human race. Then is not art. This my theory.

From a mathematical standpoint, Forty Six & 2 by Tool. In a creepy Hell Interface style, the City Sleeps by MC 900 ft. Jesus. With an old school hip-hop vibe, Party for Your Right to Fight by Public Enemy. In a Geogaddi vein, Ted, Just Admit It... by Jane's Addiction.

Bonus points for a whacked out Saltarello or an ambient Host of the Seraphim by Dead Can Dance.

My old band nearly covered Forty Six & 2. Quality Tyne, but BOC cover?? Hey it's so crazy it would likely work.

I'm really liking "Dye the Water Green" by Bibio. I think it would be interesting to hear what BoC would do to it.

Yeah I'm just discovering Bibio. His records are really hit or miss. When he's good he is REALLY good, but he can get super boring.

I think what bothers me, given how old the track is and how much BoC loves mathematics, is why this wasn't done years ago. Tool has done covers and had covers done of their songs. Maynard is prolific in his creativity. There is absolutely no way they don't know who each other are and where their interests intersect. I like to see an enterprising twoism member create a fake cover of Forty Six & 2 for us just to see what it might be like.

I also continue to contend that a Boards of Canada/Dead Can Dance collaboration would be totally and utterly breathtaking.

As much I've found Dead Can Dance a little hit-and-miss on the whole, The Host of Seraphim was both the first, and one of the best songs of theirs I've heard; a really stirring piece. BOC adding their aesthetic to that would definitely be interesting to hear... Think it could be a match with that sort of brooding cinematic vibe I get from some of the tracks on TH.

Just anything of My Bloody Valentine. Maybe to keep it fresh, a song of their latest album 'mbv' would be cool.
