Dude, the game really picks up later on. You should keep on playing P4G. Also, well, it's a very unique jRPG, that's true.

I know what Disgaea games play like because I've played 3 on my PSP, but I don't like sRPGs a lot.

Have you tried Tearaway? I bought it today and I'll play it soon-ish, it's supposedly really good!

Tearaway is a lovely little game. I must admit that I bought a Vita just to play my mate's game TxK. Glad I did as whoever owns the rights to Atari (and by extension Tempest) have threatened my mate and killed off all hopes of a PS4 version.

I've always been more into western RPGs than JRPGs. I always seem to struggle with the anime stylings and I'm never keen on games that are more dialogue than action. I have the same problem with any Metal Gear Solid games, although the first one on the original Playstation had some genius moments.

I'm currently trying to pace my progress through Everyone's Gone To The Rapture... which I guess is all casual wandering, dialogue and very little action. Ha!

Metal Gear Solid 5 is coming soon. (sept 1st) I got my copy on steam already. I can't wait to play it. I've been such a huge fan of the MGS series for a couple decades now. I, for one, love the in depth story that takes over the game. Long cut scenes? Yes please. I just figure it's less like other games in that it's more cinematic. I'm glad they never made a MGS movie, cuz the games are basically movies with gameplay. Just give me another game. I love it. And finally I'm gonna see how Big Boss turns bad and the story completes it's huge circle. And this whole open world concept should play nicely, me thinks. I can't wait!!

Well took your advice, I have put a couple more hours into P4G, im really starting to like it It is a hell of a slow burner though, i bet a lot of people quit early because of that. I actually cant wait to play it again this eve now.

Nope, not tried tearaway, im interested to hear if its any good though. What I would really like to to se on the via is some kind of RTS like a civilization type thing. There doesn't seem to be anything like that though. Anyway.. looks like ill be busy with P4G for a while

So FF7 has now been released on ios devices, it apparently comes with new features like an "avoid random encounters" switch and "God mode" so you can max out your stats at the click of a button... what the hell is the point in that? Do they not actually want you to play the game? hahah.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade (mostly meh, but there are a couple of tracks that blew me away when I was younger and still do today.)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Jeremy Soule's best work IMO. He mentioned having a near death car crash during the period he composed it.

He's always been one of the more influential composers in video games, I think. I remember he came out during a time when game scores were becoming more cinematic and orchestral (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV0e5uOu4IsThe Hive's music is one of my all-time favorites) which he dabbled in, but can always write a simple, beautiful melody as well. The Elder Scrolls games always have relaxing tunes. So many good memories of TES:O.

Yeah he did, one of the better composers to come out of that period along with Martin O'Donnell, another complete favourite of mine.

I understand the dissatisfaction people have with orchestrated video games soundtracks right now.

That's because they sound like they just contracted in one of Hollywood's mainstay composers to do them. Loud! Horns! Sweeping strings! Lack of cohesive or well thought out melody! Dun du du dun du du dun du du DUNNNN!!!!

Yeah, but when it's done well its done well. The goosebumps don't lie. Case in point - The Hive, Oblivion, Skyrim and Shadow of the Colossus, etc.

Have you tried The Binding of Isaac? theres 2 games in that series so far.
