An Empty Bliss is indeed a very weird album. Probably the weirdest I've ever heard, it punches parts of my brain that I'm not sure need punching. Having said that I find it fascinating but few tracks is enough, I could never sit down a happily listen to the whole thing.

Good shout.

I can pretty much guarantee that this will be the most fucked up thing you'll see/hear in quite a while....

That record actually has some really beautiful tracks, though.

Yeah, the rest of the album after the first track isn't strange, unfortunately.

That's a wonderful album, but there really is nothing strange about it. It certainly isn't one of the strangest albums ever, or even close to that title by any measure.

It is a psychedelic album, and one of the hallmarks of psychedelia is a transfixing weirdness. Doesn't mean it's one of the strangest ever, but tbh I consider the thread title a misnomer. It's more like a "strange albums" thread to me.

Not sure if these guys have been posted yet, but Xiu Xiu and Jordaan Mason are pretty fucking weird. And The Residents, can't forget them.

Oh, and on the hip hop side of things, B L A C K I E and Dalek are pretty out there. Death Grips as well to a lower degree.

I'll add another Kirby release to the pile.

"Watching Dead Empires In Decay" by the Stranger (kirby). This is just one of the tracks. They are all pretty different, but all unrelentingly dark and empty. I suppose that's not spot on for the "weird" discussion, but this main track always makes me feel queazy almost.
