Joanna is a bit marmite for some, I think she is a modern day genius and love her new song, the end us just sublime, anyone else?

Yeah she's pretty damn fantastic. Both Ys and Have One on Me continue to grow on me, even though I've loved Have One on Me since it dropped.
She has a beautiful way of writing songs which extend and explore certain musical themes and ideas.

She can make 11 minutes seem like a pop song. It's fantastic.

The title track of Divers is a fantastic showcase of how to build a song.

Each time a new section starts, it feels all the more intense, yet the musical palette feels different from the previous section.

Divers is still feeling a little impenetrable to me, but Have One On me was the same. Have to hear it a good few times to get a grip on the songs.

that's interesting Ian, since I feel Have One on Me was her most accessible record to date.

The only impenetrable part of it was the running time.

Beerwolf mode.

Nothing but one hundred per cent hate from me. Pretty girl though, and I'm sure she makes a wonderful vegetable curry, and she's probable wonderful company.

But fuck listening to her music. Sorry.

I've not been into her solo stuff much at all, it's not my speed but her iamamiwhoami project was crazy and interesting. I especially loved T.

Apologies for the aggressive rant above^^

I should save that behaviour for watmm. I think the Fuck You Teenage Metalhead part of me shall never go away. Which is a good thing (sometimes lol)

Joanna was never involved with iamamiwhoami, that's all Swedish.
Newsom is American.
