i would say it sounds like a Poppyseed rereprise.

and it also sounds like the took a sound from each of the records for each track and made an amalgamation of them all in that track.

that was awesome yesterday. bought the WAVs and CD and added extra bucks for the cause.

Let's wait until we have an official statement before calling bullshit.
I didn't need anything official, I have ears.

Northwest Territories sounds more like Lone. I'll ask him if he contributed.

The more I hear Northwest Territories, the more I question who made it. It almost sounds too cliche to be something BOC would produce, although I do find it very enjoyable. Doloxan has the maturity that i would expect in a newer track by the brothers, whereas Territories has the stripped down style that I'd expect from really early BOC.

This is the language used in the email I received this morning....

"Little birds of good authority have however recently found themselves on my shoulder so I wouldn't be surprised at all to find that Aphex Twin or say, Future Sound Of London or possibly Boards Of Canada have contributed. With the long, long list of previous contributors to this label you're certainly going to have a nice time seeing if you can work anything out."

Which then made me go and buy it to find out. Very misleading, even if the money is going to a good cause.

You can tell very quickly that none of the tracks are BOC.

id agree on doloxan as the black dog to be the only other artist to have come up with that. that northern territories was almost like a pisstake to make people think boc were on it. never thought that one would be theirs, its too similar to a couple of older tracks, in a try hard way.

neither/neither is a great lp, slides off track near the end on 2-3 tracks but all in all, the closest to TH I've heard.

Wouldn't call it very misleading, considering Aphex Twin is definitely on it (borg_acid) and there were several tracks that gave off a FSoL vibe. And anyway, pretty much all the tracks on this release are top quality, so I don't know why you'd complain about owning it. :P

Regardless if BoC is on here or not, and It looks like they're not, this is great music. I just bought the album after reading this thread in it's entirety. Yes, I was disappointed that they're not on there after all, because who doesn't wanna hear BoC songs we haven't heard before? And the fact that since following this project for a few weeks now, knowing BoC was a possible contributor, I find out they weren't. But I'll be listening to this album many times for a while.

Also, thanks to mdg for the clarification.

Ah, thanks for checking and posting right away. Saves him from getting spammed.

I wonder how he's doing. He hasn't posted in a few months now.

That tracklist is very plausible to me. I am happy to eat humble pie if it is true and say, sorry I said nobody was BoC. Ciaran Byrne I messaged and he said Northwestern Territories sounded like Christ. Seeing as we all thought it was him, maybe we should trust that view. Or maybe I'm drunk.
