That would be really neat. And you just reminded me that I need to listen to your new album!Skytree wrote:Really dig this. Interesting that the chorus "between give and take you take, take, take, take..." seems negative at first, but if you roll it into the next bar it says "between give and take you take, take, take, take...chances", which is more lyrically positive. The second instrumental half is what I'm hoping their next album will sound like...extremely glacial post-Campfire chillscapes.

This is so good. So rich with layer upon layer of hidden gems. It has a really nice TH mixed TCH vibe, which as other people mentioned here, would be a killer next album if they continue this vibe. Also I love that classic wind flute sound in the background at 3:37 - 3:44 - reminds me of Geogaddi.

I have acquired tastes for hazlenut yogurt, as well as dry Moroccan olives, but mixing them together spoils both
that's simply your subjective opinion though isn't it?
the vocals are going to be an issue for anyone who isn't used to people SINGING. BOC have referenced, Incredible String Band, Joni Mitchell, John Frusciante throughout the years as influences... they're all artists who actually sing un-self-consciously, as in, they let their natural voice be expressed for all that they are... Patton and Dose do that as well. Contrary to the popularity of extremely over-produced vocals.

Half of you lot just want Geogaddi 2.0 right?
Anyway, I really liked this and wish there were a purely instrumental version, the synths bubbling up towards to end are sublime!
To those who hate the vocals: well I can't say that they contribute as evenly to the quality of the track as BoC (unlike say Broken Drum), but I don't find them any worse than the ones on Dead Dogs Two or the Why? track. And I quite liked the former of those two.

I'd rather they not return to this specific sound and theme. TH was my favourite thus far, Geogaddi being the album I revisit the least.Stavorius wrote:Who doesn't?Aerial Boundaries wrote:Half of you lot just want Geogaddi 2.0 right?

Don't forget Tunde! TV on the Radio have some of the most raw vocals on their albums.d e n wrote:Patton and Dose do that as well. Contrary to the popularity of extremely over-produced vocals.

Me for one, and I'm sure plenty others. I love Geogaddi but I'd rather they cover new ground.Stavorius wrote:Who doesn't?Aerial Boundaries wrote:Half of you lot just want Geogaddi 2.0 right?
It was actually more a comment on what I think I'm seeing here: some of us are pretty resistant to change in a band who are known to change their sound with each new release.
EDIT: This post is retreading old ground btw, so it might look like I have a bone to pick but I don't!

I'd love to hear the unreleased tracks they made around the time periods of their previous albums, but I wouldn't want them to 'return' to an older sound.Aerial Boundaries wrote:Me for one, and I'm sure plenty others. Sim city 4 soundtrack - Oasis ?
Just nostalgia from when I was younger. I don't tend to play video games any more.
Sorry for the blasphemy. I did really enjoy the track.

Always used to swap out the official tracks for a selection of BOC and Stars of the Lid when playing SimCity4. Worked a treat.Valotonin wrote:Sim city 4 soundtrack - Oasis ?

This is such an amazing and totally unexpected collaboration for me, Mike Patton, whether it be Faith No More/Mr Bungle/Tomahawk etc and BOC have all had massive influences on me. It took a while to grow on me but I am now playing on repeat looking forward to the next listen!
