with such unique vocals....why do cLOUDEAD insist on doing music under so many different names....its fucking cLOUDEAD. its like Jason Alexander playing anything other than George....all you see is George no matter what roll he's in.

But it's not cLOUDDEAD. It's only one member of cLOUDDEAD (Doseone) along with two other musicians from other groups, similar to some of those 'rock supergroups' that occasionally pop up.

I listened to the original first. I liked it ok but really liked this version. I actually like the vocals MORE after hearing this, whereas I was lukewarm with the original song.

I'm the same way with the Clouddead remix - love that song and I think they marry the vocals well with their own music, and enhance it the process. I don't dig the original as much but I appreciate it more. Same with their Beck remix from awhile back.

BoC's remixing skill comes from how they re-contextualizing the vocals in the way they mix and arrange them with their music, not just throwing on a new loops or some different drums behind it.

Also regarding the vocals - the dude from TV on the radio's vocals are my least favorite. That band has always been a bit dull to me, at least their singles anyway, never got their hype.

This could not have come at a better time. Some unanticipated events in my life have left me feeling particularly down in the dumps recently, and this new BoC material has given me so much unexpected joy. Stunning.

the moral of the lyrics are pretty strong and brave and meaningful in telling it like it is, talking about corrupt people in corporations (i get that from them talking about making sure their "paper work is safe, for your fast paced gas phase" possibly jabbing at gas companies in particular) ruining life for the rest of humanity, even saying that "[They] got Satan." (The exact lyrical quote is: "We got Satan." but I'm sure they are making a symbolic quote of these corrupt people.) How could you state more boldly that there is terrible corruption in these selfish people who are running things? They are saying that this is leading to so much death (in that they repeat "death" so many times, sometimes in different ways, shows the varying ways and effects of the many victim's deaths) and also problems anywhere from a "splinter or a nuclear winter." But they don't care. If they choose "If it's between give and take" they end up deciding to "take, take, take."

And of coarse the lay out of the vocals is awesome. Everything else is absolutely fantastic: the synths, the percussion, everything! I will have to give this some time (read: a lot more time) before I can decide more accurately where this ranks in my favorite BoC songs. As of right now, it's right at the top. But as I've stated before, my favorite BoC song is usually whichever one is currently playing through my headphones, and this one is the only song I've listened to since I first heard it. So it's hard to tell right now. But the bottom line is that I LOVE it.

I feel ya, buddy. It was the exact same thing for me. Tuesday was mega stressful where I was considering admitting myself into a hospital. The massive problem was solved toward the end of the day though, so no worries. Came home from a long day and was going straight to bed, but when I was about to set the alarm on my phone I noticed a notification on my phone of a new BoC song. I then didn't go to sleep until I had a method of having the song play on repeat for a while automatically. Felt pretty darn good about that. NEW BOC!!!!

I'm glad everything got sorted out for you! I was having the worst day I have had in probably 2 years, so it was almost as if something otherworldly was trying to get me back on my feet with this incredible surprise. I can also completely agree with you about this being top tier BoC, obviously my now emotional attachment to it probably sways things, but they have managed to really bring out something special from the vocals here.

All the reverberating drones give off a strong Steven Stapleton vibe in this track. Not bad, but I agree with everyone else on the vocals. They just don't fit.

I'm liking the track more and more after each listen. I feel like I hear elements from Split your infinities and even Gemini's glitchy tremolo effect with the synth. There are also a few TH sci-fiy jingles mixed in there I hear. To me it has a strong TH theme to it which is great, cause I really digged that album.

The vocals add to the TH theme I see in lyrics like "nuclear winter" and the count down I hear right at the 2 min mark. All in all nice remix I think. It's going to have a lot of plays on my headphones/stereo in the months to come. I Just can't wait to get a higher quality download.

Thanks man! I definitely hope things are gonna be ok with you too. But ya, it sounds like lots of us here are like me in that very little excites me more than finding out I'm about to hear brand new BoC. So those rare times it comes are an awesome pick-me-up when your feeling down and an awesome boost even when your doing fine.

yea, I'm feeling down lately too, ready 2 quit study/college :/ this is helping me a bit. the vocal shock is long gone, this is how its meant to be and it works. takes a few listens and becomes addictive. the original i don't like though. they really made it shine above it by far. still would like to read the lyrics in text form, i could try myself but would not get it right. its like the word 'that' morphs into 'death' and then repeats 'death'. id buy this on vinyl for sure.

I usually love Doseone's vocals, but I'm inclined to agree. Great to hear new BoC though.
