Re: BoC Fakes
It wasn't me who made that video. I don't know who did. I came across a few files that was supposed to be closes vol 1 by someone on irc saying christ had these and and as of recent i no longer have these files but a couple of them were demos of tracks from hi scores. There's one song that's called trillions but it was a synth only version of a hi scores track. I put the files together for watmm back when i was using the name data language systems and i talked to fredd-e and he got the files from me. Anyway. Thanks to those who like my song. I was drunk last night, sorry.

So.. Those weren't legit tracks? Or would you mind posting the Hi Scores demos if you're gonna talk about them?clenci wrote:It wasn't me who made that video. I don't know who did. If I'm understanding this correctly, you found a few tracks supposedly from closes vol 1 and put them together with some tracks you made yourself to form the complete album? And you don't have the files anymore but Fredd-e does?clenci wrote:It wasn't me who made that video. I don't know who did. Don't bite the worm. It's not real.
Re: BoC Fakes
In a round about way, yes. As far as i remember, the trillion song sounded like a track Sixtyniner now that i remember, but an instrumental version, with no drums. And yes, fredd-e got them from me on soulseek. It wwas about 6 years ago. I lost them with a hard drive crash.Omikron wrote:If I'm understanding this correctly, you found a few tracks supposedly from closes vol 1 and put them together with some tracks you made yourself to form the complete album? Re: BoC Fakes
Where do you come from?
Re: BoC Fakes
Guys what is this, can't we have a normal conversation about BOC fakes? Calling each other morons and cunts has nothing to do with the subject here. I'd for one love to hear those .mp3s if Fredd-E has them lying around, who knows, maybe there's really a BOC song hiding amongst the masses of fakes on the net.

Agree regarding the tone 100%. Keep it civil please.
As to the tracks, if Fred had evidence Of HiScores demos I'm guessing it would be on BOCpages. I'd love to be wrong of course, but unless he sent the tracks to MDG, who then asked him not to mention it, it doesn't make sense. The more likely answer is these are fake, and so in the correct thread

It was a standard meme reply to drunken cockney gibberish and was intended as a joke. No offense intentionally given.Mexicola wrote:Agree regarding the tone 100%. Keep it civil please.

Right, I think I've found out the origin of that Petina, or at least where the anonymous miscreant most likely got it from. On Disc 19 (which houses apocryphal tracks) of the Syd Barrett bootleg box set "Have You Got It Yet?", Track 4 is pretty much identical to the "Petina" we've got. The version on Youtube has the first part before the track goes silent for a few seconds slightly slowed down to make it match the time of the actual track.
It's listed as "Stonehenge Solstice Jam '69", and was apparently being passed off as a collaboration between Syd Barrett, Keith Moon, and Sun Ra for years before it showed up on YouTube as Petina. This doesn't solve the mystery of the track's origins, but with this new info in mind it's almost definitely not real BoC. Interestingly, the same disc also contains "Susan's Lungs", which I saw very briefly being passed around as a BoC outfake.

If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?

Nice sleuthing. And if it fooled Hertz HZ that helps establish that he/she doesn't quite have the full deck then, for whatever that's worth.Jango9 wrote:Right, I think I've found out the origin of that Petina, or at least where the anonymous miscreant most likely got it from. Re: BoC Fakes
Whoops, it's actually track 3. My mistake. Anyways, here's the original version of the track:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6v8hmzn0cb5zr ... 9.mp3?dl=1
It's got a bit of someone saying "Sorry about that" at the beginning which was cut from the Petina upload that doesn't sound anything like either of the brothers' speaking voices, which further proves that it ain't BoC.

I shazam'd it and found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FzA6xtX4-Yrolypablo wrote:This will always be my favourite BoC fake :
... So I guess that song was uploaded to youtube as a fake boc song 4 years before it came out? Or High Tides managed to find the original source and ripped it?
