Less than a third of the way through this, but it is fascinating so far. All the info that an excellent, reputable journalist could gather, organize and give narrative to regarding the extensive research the U.S. government conducted on the paranormal, basically for no other reason than because the Soviets were doing the same.

She previously wrote what I consider the definitive book on Area 51. I recommend her work highly.

Oh, I wish I could read that again for the first time. I'm trying to get hold of a copy of "S" by JJ Abrams to continue my journey into ergodic literature.

As it is, I'm taking time off reading Frazer's "The Golden Bough", (a book on comparative religion from the late 1890s that caused a scandal when published, for daring to include Christianity, so relegating it to just another religion amongst many). And "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire, (just cos ).

John, I'm so happy you got through House of Leaves. I'm set on my next tattoo being HOL or Dragula themed, but the only thing HOL I can think of is to get, like, a hallway door and just have 5 1/2 min. written on it or something.

I'm reading It by Stephen King.

I'm officially halfway though the book, which I never thought would happen since it's so damn large. I checked it out from the library and had to take it back, but my cousin is a huge King fan and told me she picked it up for me as a Christmas present.

Does anyone else here read King? I enjoy him a lot, but it seems like a chapter is either dreadfully boring or 100% page turning. One time, I spent 5 hours at the library reading through "It" and the entire time it was a literary drought. Then I went back the next day, and the library is a mile from my house, so I was walking home, terrified, and had to remind myself Pennywise the Clown IS NOT a thing.
