You're too cool for Facebook but still want to see your boring thread posted on there ? Quite a contradiction.

It looks like two "T"s having sex. I think it suits the campaign well.

Why did you have to include that this needs to be put onto Facebook ? If anybody here is the "uninformed fuckknuckle putting his useless 2cents," you're a perfect example of it. This thread is completely pointless and doesn't need to exist.

Trump fails every day but it only adds to his campaign's popularity. We're living in The Twilight Zone complete with fucking letters in logos. Help!!

It still isn't as horrifically backward as people actually supporting Hillary Clinton.

Sorry UK folks, I promise all Americans don't think this way. I know it's cold comfort after Brexit, but we won't let Trump happen. Clinton may be a return to American politics as usual but at least a Clinton presidency wouldn't mean the end of what's good (or what's left of it) in America.

I don't think you have to apologise to us for anything. We just 'gave' the world Boris fucking Johnson as Foreign Secretary. Another of the modern four horseman of the Apocalypse rides into view.

Seems to me that Trump, et al are simply a sign of the times. The western world has begun eating it's own tail. Sick times indeed.

The fact that people are in favor of Clinton is a sign of how disgustingly complacent Americans are, and you're doing the wrong thing, Opothecary. Trump may not be suited to be in office, but he at least has the right attitude, and that's more than can be said for the Democratic candidate. Politicians are the death of America.

I'm not sure how anyone can interpret Trump having the "right attitude".

From Hitler to Koresh to Jim Jones to Trump, the cults of personality that form around these types of individuals has always fascinated me - their ability to cultivate the weak minded. It seems like they take advantage of some type of vulnerability in the human OS.

I probably ate too many psychedelics in my 20s and I just don't see the draw at all.

In this case it hits a little too close to home and is on a large scale with high stakes, so I'll upgrade it from "fascinating" to "fucking terrifying".

Clinton sucks, but we have a better chance of surviving 4 years of that.

I don't consider myself politically aligned, but the rise of right wing populism in the western world will be the downfall of our way of life.

I wish I could be voting FOR something instead of just against something.

Comparing Trump to Hitler, how original. Godwin's Law hasn't been more accurate ever since Mr. Donald has taken over all discussion everywhere. If you're actually terrified by politics in the United States, then you are awfully naïve. Anyway, since your drug use has disabled you, I suppose I'll explain to you what the "draw" is : modern politicians are people who don't have any beliefs of their own and only say whatever will make people like them the most ; they put many hours of careful planning into everything they say and this makes them appear very robotic and inhuman. Donald Trump is a candidate who very clearly does not try to make everyone like him and isn't afraid of saying controversial things ; nor does he put very much planning into his public appearances and mostly improvises his speeches. This is refreshing in political elections. But you only get your news from very specific sources that train you to be scared of him rather than viewing him objectively.

Yikes, now we're invoking Godwin's Law. Not a good look. Humanity is inherently ugly and selfish, saying that something like Nazi Germany couldn't ever happen again is naive and foolish. Wrap it up in the stars and stripes and give it a shitty haircut, still ugly and selfish (and a compulsive backpedalling liar)

Believe it or not, ingesting psilocybin or LSD once or twice a year for a handful of years doesn't turn one into a babbling fool hiding under one's bed later in life; on the other hand, it does have an interesting persistent effect. It's a little like going to a magic show and having the ability to know how all the magic tricks are performed. Long term, it turned me into an excellent reader of people. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the better professional poker players are experienced psychonauts. The one bad thing is, you do lose your sense of wonder in some respects. Seeing the rubes fall for Trump's snake oil salesman routine is only "terrifying" because you can see exactly what is going on while supposedly otherwise intelligent people are eating out his hands. It's Hitler without the Jews and Manson without the LSD. Lost souls looking for someone else to make things right.

It's unfortunate the way modern Western culture demonizes "drug use" and puts it all under one tent. When we look back hundreds of years at traditional tribal structures and compare Western culture to that, the people who choose to intelligently ingest particular substances would have been (respected) medicine men back then. Now we call them hippies. We don't have actual tribes anymore, but I don't feel we have outgrown the need for the role of "medicine men". We still need to be responsible for getting in touch with our own true spirituality that isn't being monetized or manipulated in some way via organized religion. If each man is now a tribe in and of themselves, that means that we need to be our own medicine men; I feel that our society is in chaos and disarray partially because the powers that be have trained us out of being seekers. Now we're just consumers. We are out of balance.

I don't consider myself a "drug user" - I cut my hair and work 9 to 5 like anyone else. Please save the condescension for people who have actually been harmed spiritually, physically or emotionally by real drugs. To put it more bluntly, if you want to consider me a disabled drug addict, then I wish you good luck with your Koresh/Hitler/Manson style worship of a failed 4 times bankrupt billionaire New York liberal lifelong friend of the Clintons who decided he wanted to become a Republican this year to shake things up...because he was bored.

Ultimately the engine that runs the Trump groundswell is 50-75 year old baby boomers that have never had to really work for anything, that sort of just coasted through life on the efforts of the WW2 generation (and their children who can't think for themselves). The Gen Xers were innovators, but the boomers are really just like an older, more racist, less skilled and just as entitled version of today's twenty somethings (I won't use the dreaded m word)

if this is the crux of the matter then that's astounding and i've really missed something around this whole debate. rather than vote for the politician who is malleable and responds and listens to the will of the people, you're saying people are going to vote for the one who's a stubborn fucking asshole just because he's honest about it? bullshit, SURELY. anyone who says that's why they are voting trump is deluding themselves. the fact is that a voter would only cast a ballot for this cunt if they already actually agreed with his views. and imo if they agree with his views then they are nasty, sick minded, myopic, entitled and self-serving. and if they genuinely do not agree with his views but they vote for him anyway, then they are just a fucking idiot, which is a different thing but still a sign of the fuckin' end times.

Well said Techboy.

We have the same problem here with the likes of Nigel Farage, albeit he's conspicuous by his absence these days. People may be sick and tired of professional politicians and party politics, but you'd hope that didn't necessarily mean the populace simply plump for the wanker who screams loudest and longest. This feels like the public taking an almighty shit in it's own nest. The mask has slipped and we can now see the rather ugly beast within some of us.

Also, ya know, him not wanting to be president is also a problem. http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/pre ... owerful-vp. I would argue that handing a VP that still is virulently against Gay Marrige, LGBT Rights, The Enviroment, Reproductive Rights, and the Islamic faith all of the policy making decisions while he can focus on "Making America Great Again" might make him the single most baffling and unqualified nominee in American History.
