By "OLD SHIT" I of course mean those albums that have been hiding away just out of reach for so long. Give me those Closes and those Visual Drones already !

Geogaddi and TH are both already pretty dark, just in different ways.
Yeah, whereas Geogaddi is more alice and wonderland-y, TH is more noam chomsk-y.

The word "ritual" definitely can evoke some Geogaddi imagery, but who knows.

A new EP would be really good, so I voted that, but I've always secretly wanted a large collection of cut Geogaddi tracks.

I really couldn't care less about new BoC. They're washed up. TH was nice, but it was no Exai. I just want closure.

What I'd really want is the entire Play By Numbers EP. or Catalog 3. Because I really like the sample of "Wouldn't You Like To Be Free?" and I want the whole song.
Please.
For now we have this:

this one's (probably) my favorite right now.

I really believe that they are not 'washed up'. They have the kevin shields effect as I call it, they have focused on music and not maintaining their image as young or whatever and definitely not reprising their earlier works in an attempt to tell themselves they still have that 'thing' / whatever (I am sure they still do have that 'thing').

But they seem focused on what they can do with soundwaves and that is something they are still always developing and turning in to something really expressive and beautiful, not like a band that had a hit song in the 80s that wishes they could still write something as good.

Uh… New Seeds ?

Anyway, their best works are long behind them and that's probable the reason why barely any of their shit sees the light of day anymore. For all we know, music is just an occasional pastime for them these days. Either they've lost interest in it or their music has suffered a drastic drop in quality after Trans Canada Highway. Those are really the only reasons why it would take eight years to make a single album.

I think they said it took 8 years because they were raising their kids and spending time with their families.

Hoping for a new EP with the theme and atmosphere of Tomorrow's Harvest. Or something progressing further down those lines such as the sound at the end of the Mr. Mistake remix.

Well that certainly didn't slow down Steven Stapleton, and he probably has more children than the brothers combined. Raising children takes up a lot of time, but the majority of fathers still keep their jobs after they breed.

This is boards we are talking about. Childhood was a very important time to them in terms of everything, it is the raw nostalgia that created a lot of their music. Having children to them is probably a window back in to that wondrous state of mind and I am sure they are literally dedicating a lot of their time to ensuring their children have a profoundly amazing childhood. I imagine them passing wisdom down in terms of music too so we never know what the future holds.

I think that from their perspective, they are in a more than stable position financially so why keep working to such a time consuming extent when they can be spending time creating a beautiful childhood for their children.

IIRC they said in one of their TH interviews that they significantly rebuilt their studio between Trans Canada and TH. I have a sneaking suspicion that's a major reason for the long gap.

And anyway, TH is fantastic.
