Re: BOC Nevermen Remix
You could do something to get it.
Re: BOC Nevermen Remix
just let it to drift in the ocean of the digital internet data, if you don't get ,then you don't get it, even if suddenly the internet stops working and you will miss so many data, that you didn't download,
it is still will be written in your memory and in your soul (nostalgia)

Re: BOC Nevermen Remix
Considering NEVERMEN posted it, we can't say for sure it was up to BOC to share it. Anyone have insight on that? How does ownership work on a remix when BOC were hired guns to recreate someone else's work?arvy wrote:love this trax, legit boc material, but i was asking myself last night, why it took boc almost a year to share? it is probably the source for the original remix, so why? is it some mind chess game?
the percussion, tho..
and that modular synth bliss, auuuu

Re: BOC Nevermen Remix
At around the 2:50 mark, I'm hearing some hard panning and mixing that wouldn't be up to snuff on an album release. It must be an artifact from mixing to the vocals?
Re: BOC Nevermen Remix
agreed, there was probably some agreement(?) bewteen nevermen and boc, tho, this instrumental version almost unrecognizable from the original nevermen trackryetronics wrote:Considering NEVERMEN posted it, we can't say for sure it was up to BOC to share it. Re: BOC Nevermen Remix
Almost? It's now a completely unrelated piece of music!arvy wrote:this instrumental version almost unrecognizable from the original nevermen track
This isn't directed at you arvy, this is an aside that has confused me for while: BOC have stated 'Remix' on a vast number of occasions when it appears to me they have created an entirely new backing track from scratch. A remix suggests a different sonic interpretation or re-arrangement of existing tracks. However, BOC only ever use a vocal take (if you're lucky).
For instance, Last Walk Around Mirror Lake (Remix) doesn't relate to the original at all. If anything it sounds like a TCH out-take. (At the end it even fades into a 'demo' version of itself as do many TCH tracks.)
Also Sisters (Remix) uses VHS tape sources with an entirely new backing track but it's still classed as an Odd Nosdam track... Why is this? Surely, BOC have just used the same sample sources and created their own piece of music in it's own right? Is this all about doing favours for mates rather than remixing?
Anyway, I find myself wanting instrumental versions of Dead Dogs, Broken Drum and Good Friday now (particularly the latter).

Re: BOC Nevermen Remix
I would imagine the term remix is required by the label for marketing purposes.arvy wrote:agreed, there was probably some agreement(?) bewteen nevermen and boc, tho, this instrumental version almost unrecognizable from the original nevermen trackryetronics wrote:Considering NEVERMEN posted it, we can't say for sure it was up to BOC to share it. the intersting thing, that Last Walk Around Lake (remix) does sound like TCH out-take, while NEVERMEN remix doesn't..Yes, it has that main synth-line from Split Your Infinities, but any who listened to those both know, that they are just different, the feel of the track is different..Peacock Tail wrote: For instance, Last Walk Around Mirror Lake (Remix) doesn't relate to the original at all. Title edited as per earlier suggestion.
Loving this version (loved the vocal version too to be fair).
Anyone else picking up footsteps right at the end when the crickets sounds kick in?

This makes me happy. I thought folks were sleeping on the original remix a bit hard for not liking the vocals. This feels like some virtuoso shit from the brothers and a good portent of what might come.
Here's hoping they have an album's worth of this sound sitting around... outtakes too cheery for TH? Maybe an EP?

preparation for a dive.
Re: BOC Nevermen Remix (Instrumental)
My sentiments exactly. TH was very stylised and focused on mostly on a particular set of subjects but it is in BoC's and any true musician's habits to create a vast variety of different pieces on the emotional spectrum. We caught glimpses of this at the end of new seeds and palace posy to a certain extent and I am sure they exist and are continuing to be made especially considering that from the perspective of most people, fatherhood is an emotional rollercoaster taking them to levels of emotion that almost didn't seem possible before. I am looking forward.tonx wrote:Here's hoping they have an album's worth of this sound sitting around... outtakes too cheery for TH? Maybe an EP?

I've got to admit the original remix didn't grab me and it's not that it was in any way bad, but the vocals just weren't my thing. This though I've been able to give a proper listen and I love it. It's way up there in the stuff they've done since TCH. Very refreshing sound for them.tonx wrote:This makes me happy. And I totally get on board with the "use a few elements from the original track and build the rest" school of remixing

I do love the original remix with vocals but hearing it without?
fecking beautiful craftsmanship, its hard not to hit repeat after hearing it.
Please is there a new album this year?

Sounds so much more like the BOC we all love minus the vocals.

Re: BOC Nevermen Remix (Instrumental)
I don't think they're quite done messing with social media randomness (I'm expecting that Seven Forty Seven video to get posted to Twitter any day now), but I feel like some type of release is getting closer. Fingers crossed! I really hope they can get out of their own heads a little next time - I love TH but I completely understand it's divisiveness, it's definitely its own little world that you could be really hot or cold on depending on your taste.vballs wrote:I do love the original remix with vocals but hearing it without?fecking beautiful craftsmanship, its hard not to hit repeat after hearing it.

It's been 20 years, do an MHTRTC Vol. 2, I'm sure they are sitting on piles of music that didn't fit their other projects that has nothing in common with each other, other than the fact that it could hang really well together. I'm not saying it has to sound anything at all like MHTRTC per se, I just love the fact that the album is just a happy accident, almost a mixtape set of perfect, great tunes with no specific story or concept behind it other than being sort of what people might consider the blueprint for their sound and aesthetic.
As far as the Mr. Mistake instrumental goes, I like the vocal version of this song just fine, but it is cool to see it now stand in a way that we're more accustomed to from them. I like to think that putting this out there now means that this year is about their own work standing on its own and not remixes for other artists.
