07. Transmisiones Ferox (2:18)

This song reminded me of SOMETHING, then the other day it dawned on me.

While not exactly, it does remind me enough of an OLD song by a collective called KFMF (Kosmic Free Music Foundation) from back in the mid-late 90's. They were a trakker group, but there was a song - and a remix - that reminded me of the woman's voice.

I had to utilize The Internet Way Back Machine, but listen to these .mp3's and see if you can make the connection as well:

I know it's a stretch, but I've loved (the remix) since I first heard it in '98. When I heard the woman's voice with the dark music behind in Transmisiones, it was driving me nuts trying to think what it reminded me of!

I believe this song is a continuation of Telepath, picking up with the same blast sound that occurred at the end. I like Brunchtime's explanation of Telepath as what could be a recording of some organization tapping into the brothers' minds while they play, and I think Transmisiones Ferox could also be a self-reference. The name is derived from a grim 70s movie, Cannibal Ferox, which showed the cannibals to be misunderstood after being mistreated by imperialists. With little explanation following their releases, Transmisiones Ferox compares how their music is misinterpreted - an obvious example being Geogaddi.

every track is continuation of the one before. this is some kind of overinterpretation, how the hell tittle "Transmissiones Ferox" can compare to people who misitnterpret their music (Geogaddi at this case)?

Maybe those "9999" have to "die" because they didn't know how to listen to their songs?

seriously, they always give free hand to interpret their songs like the listener wishes to. I would rather focus on the missile launching blast and its further consequences, than on ... whatever you call it.

Dude, just listen to whole album and try to connect the dots which are, actually, the songs. Use your imagination and let the sound to lead it. And I promise, you may find it their best official album.

They played Transmisiones Ferox on HBO's VICE S2E2 during a scene discussing the ice melting in Greenland.

The clip above is not with the song but just an idea of what the show is like.

Thats my birthday. :-O mind blown. There was a HUGE electrical storm here in the SF Bay Area that night as well...also mind blowing.

ive noticed something with this track recently, not just with this track, but with the entire album.

the entire album has so many radio transmissions its not even funny. it seems like almost all of the audio on this album sounds like its through a radio, or old walkie talkie.

in this track however, listen to the beginning, a few seconds before the females voice, its sounds like some sort of radio transmission beginning.

tomorrows harvest even used a strong aspect of radio signals when giving us clues towards its release.
i just feel like there is something lying in this album that we having picked up on yet.

listen to Gemini very carefully. left channel - woman's voice appears from radio noise, saying something like.. ten? you will catch it - first half

I'm in the middle of nowhere just flying in stratosphere and the signal is being transmitted it's raw, vibrant and powerful and I fly together over the the seas and finally I land to one of the destinations, some housewife skipping the channels on her tv, while making breakfast

The female voice sounds like it could be saying, at minimum, four different numbers; 19.5, 19.9, 1925, and/or 1929.

19.5, in degrees, has some kind of geometry from spheres and tetrahedrons to it and has some loose significance in far-off there theories.

19.9, in years, astrologically and even astronomically significant, is approximately the time it takes for Jupiter and Saturn to conjunct.

1925, which may the most salient one relating to the track, is when the first video was sent over transmission lines. It would and has had a fierce outcome from then on.

1929, the year of the great economic collapse. Fits in with themes of the album as a whole.

All separate, this numbers seem like faint connections, but in how it lacks clarity in what exactly that number is, there is a lot there in the ambiguity.

Remember that Transmisiones Ferox and Sundown are musically paired (tracks 7 and 14, or 7+14=21), the same way that there are other paired tracks on TH, like RFTD and CTD.

19/9 was just there to let us know in advance the date they were coming back to announce something new for release on November 10th of this year.

this track always reminded me of Basic Channe and Moritz Von Oswaldl. interesting maybe they took some inspiration from this beril-detroit techno sound on this track
