I AM GOD. THE ULTIMATE RESONANCE.
There are a lot of different 'me's, you know. There's the mad me, when I get angry.

Yeah. It does. Why would they have suddenly added the listing for it now after more than a decade?john fonda wrote:explanation about the matador site seems odd tbh

It got the necessary attention. I'm sure they will fix Geogaddi on Soundcloud soon too.john fonda wrote:it has been taken down now

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
from the perspective of someone who makes websites profesionally matador's explanation is 100% plausible, almost unbelievably so, because even the most basic of diligence finds this:

they have a database, it has data in it which is messy, c'est la vie
even if the youtube/twitter stuff, which is quite interesting, lead to anything, this matador thing wll not have been a part of it.. why would they take part in a promo campaign for an artist thats not even on their roster anymore? just madness. come on.

The thing is, the entry didn't exist before. I mean, doing what you do, you know that creating and deleting an entry like this in the name of generating a little mystery on behalf of an old partner takes up a trivial amount of time.Techboy wrote:from the perspective of someone who makes websites profesionally matador's explanation is 100% plausible, almost unbelievably so, because even the most basic of diligence finds this:

I would agree with you if the entry appeared in the past, but it didnt.
It's a little like the Soundcloud thing, they may not have set out to have this as an option, but you might as well leverage it if you can. Nothing in this campaign lives or dies based on this tertiary activity, Twitter is still the main focus, but keeping people engages until June doesn't hurt. I could see a video playlist entry 147 (14+7) sometime between now and then too.

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
eh whilst it doesnt take a long time, you'd say no. the entries are there with the same misentered date on loads of bands, its clearly some kind of artefact or placeholder thats been around forever but their new website people forgot to filter out.
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Does anybody else think BoC is being as ambiguous as possible with these little hints? I haven't really seen anything here that I would consider concrete proof but it's all too perfect to pass as coincidence.Opothecary wrote:

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
In my view, the bros really consider the time of year they release an album - considering they released TH in June I don't think they would do it again unless it makes sense "artistically". Perhaps a sister album to TH...
MHTRTC - April
IABPOITC - November
Geogaddi - February
TCH - October
Trans Can - May
TH - June

@ lichtenberg94
I dont see it.
IABPOITC (title, cover) screams spring for me, and TH winter.
Yet the first one was released in late autumn, and the latter in summer. What makes you think they take the time of year into consideration when releasing an album?

I'm sorry TH winter? it's summer!
last summer before nuclear winter

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
I guess you're right if that's the theory behind TH - is it?
However with tracks like cold earth and the 'bleak' feel of the production ( at least to me), i'm not getting a summer vibe at all with TH.

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Yes plenty cold tracks and teh more futher you go in to the album, Sick Times, Split Your Infinities, Semena..
Tho, this is more on my personal nostalgic experience:
listening to the Reach for the Dead, reminds me of spring/summer, everything goes green, life is cheering..but at teh same time you feel that indescribable sadness and and paranoia of what is still to come..
so yes, last sunrays of the ending summer, before the winter

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Reminding people of what they are already aware of but one shouldn't forget that the First track of TH is 'Gemini' and that the album was also released (in all of its forms) under the Gemini sign. Not under the Coke sign.
That's a pretty strong indication as to an album being linked to a particular time of year for me personally. Also a lot of the tracks have that unnatural 'Is the world a fucking microwave' cooking in the polluted summer heatwave feeling about them.

I agree. Campfire has the strongest Summer open-road vibe too.Cyclosa wrote:@ lichtenberg94

BOC are responsible for many a case of apophenia.
I don' think TH has a seasonal vibe of any kind. Gloom is gloom in sunshine or snow.

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
I always pictured TCH as an early autumn album. It's the only one that was released in the time of year that it felt like, so I guess this stuff is all subjective. I think we will get something in October or December this year (October 6th or 20th, or December 8th), I wonder if people will think it sounds like its season.Peacock Tail wrote: I agree. Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
There was a lot of the future in the last record; I would like another record to describe looking at your hands and looking at a leaf now as things are. But where would the tension be? Probably won't happen.
