should I wait on the cassette until you're comfortable with the price? Our little label had a hard time figuring that out too. We bulk ordered the blank cassette tapes and dubbed them ourselves. As long as nobody was ordering them out of the country it was simple enough, but whoa those overseas shipping costs were like 30 bucks.

I just did a quick calculation of what it's gonna cost to pull this together, and I think yeah it's fine for you (and anyone else reading this that might be interested!) to go ahead and order!

My original one is a porta07. I do most of my newer 4-track work on a Portastudio414. The Porta07 has taken a lot of abuse and I have to get it repaired. Hence my "Take care of it, brother" ;)

Tascam FTW!
I'm using the Porta One. Love them VU Meters at the top. I FINALLY just bought all the proper cables for ins and outs for it! The sound improved immediately. It's my favourite piece of gear atm.

Nice ambient song, ParticleGhost. Should run it through again with less gain so there's no clipping.

Here is little something I put together over the weekend, and I'm oddly pleased with it. However, I made revisions shorty after I uploaded it. By no means is it done yet.
Time to reinvent myself.

It's been a long time since I've shared anything in this thread. Here's some short lofi house/techno loop I made last night before I went to bed.

very 'thick' sounding. very full. i like the steady beat mixed in with the kinda hectic synths.

Yea I just want my shit to sound a little different. The piano but shit jumping out at you too. The percussion took weeks for me to get down, trashing whole ideas, restarting from scratch. Was a pain but I'm happy with end product. (don't give up is what I'm saying).

Listening to your track now. Very relaxing stuff. Reminds me very much of E*Vax if it had a bit more beat to it.

I'm between jobs right now, technically unemployed for a week -- perfect time to get back to recording.

Wrote this song yesterday and recorded it today, "Sleep {Now}"

Messing around more with tape and stuff.

The story: "You're stuck in a loop of time while in a museum line. Wondering when you'll leave, you start to hear this music as your mind reacts to realizing you're stuck and have been here for far longer than you thought. Soon the world outside of that museum line becomes a distant memory, until that line is all you know."
