Uh yes they did state that the gap between albums would be shorter. Either them or a direct connection to HS has said this. I've read through almost every english or english translated interview so the quote would be a bugger to find again. Can anyone else that has read that interview back me up on this ?

Even for someone who is rather skeptical the connection seems to be interesting. Hints towards solar events combined with the fact the anniversary is on the evening of the Eclipse. Just out of curiosity, do you know if the solar eclipses path will be going over the Mojave desert i.e Lake Dolores ?

I'm not sure if Lake Dolores would really play into it, the most obvious thing to do would be to literally announce it at 02:57 UTC that night but who knows.

I remember we were looking at the Coescha date/time hard last year, it's funny that we're back to the same place a year later armed with a lot more data that backs it up this time.

If you look at it the right way, it's almost too obvious and would make a great final red herring, so I won't be too disappointed if it passes without incident.

If we need a 21 and a 168, November 10th -> December 14th works just as well as August 21st -> October 11th. December 14th is cool because it actually combines last year and this year's sequence into one date.

The only thing the eclipse theory has going for it is that 9/9 would be a logical date to drop a new single/video, putting a nice bookend to things starting on 6/6 last year.

I do think it's a cool coincidence that Mogwai's new album has an eclipse on the cover, and this all started with them liking a post from them last year.

Did something there change recently? Or are you pointing out that it's down? Last I knew, It's been down for quite awhile...doesn't mean that it isn't weird that the night of the eclipse just happens to be exactly 21 years after the year that was listed on the console, especially with all the relevant dates this year being multiples of 7.

More fuel for the eclipse theory. The Mr. Mistake instrumental was released on February 17th this year, the vinyl was released on July 21st. All the same numbers.

Let's apply the same idea elsewhere. Two different tweets last year had timestamps ending in :57. each separated by 4 hours. Let's treat the 8/24 tweet as a guide to the hours (8, 4, 2) and then simply reverse the datestamp of the December 8th tweet to get August 21st with a timestamp of 2:57am,

8/24 - 8:57am
12/8 - 4:57am

8/21 - 2:57am
