I thought it would be cool to have one thread that we can add to for artists that claim to be influenced by BoC in one way or another.
I did a search but didn't find anything, so if a thread like this already exists and im just shite at searching.. sorry :-p
Here is a band I would not have guessed who are influenced somewhat by BoC .. Kasabian

as most of you know, Tycho. is obviously heavily influenced by boards of canada.
thom yorke from radiohead said that a lot of inspiration behind the album "kid a" was from listening to a lot of boards of canada
chino moreno from deftones did a side project years ago called "team sleep", i remember him stating in an interview that boc and other similar electronic artists had inspired him to go for a more relaxed chilled out side project
Thom Yorke was listening to Warp generally prior to Kid A. He famously bought their entire back catalogue.
Team Sleep was meant to be the collaboration with Mogwai that never happened. They'd talked about a collaborative effort but Chino Moreno went ahead and did Team Sleep without them.
My mate Nick McCabe ex of the Verve, is a massive BoC fan; spoke to him more than once about their brilliance. More of a geogaddi fan than a TCH one, deep down he's an electronic musician not a ax-slinger.
I can't find the link at the moment but around the time of all the TH interviews, there was a kind of Q and A where musicians and bands who were influenced by or admired BOC were invited to ask them questions. One of them was either The Advisory Circle or Belbury Poly, so it's likely they were influenced in some way. I'll try and find the link!
He's not a Twoism member but his work is fairly well known on here. BrandNewRetro (who still posts here occasionally) released some of his material a few years back on his label and there is a thread about him in here too. Well worth checking out for those unfamiliar with him.

I rememebr reading this Q&A interview too, any luck finding it? I cant find it now at all and it doesnt seem to be on BoC pages. Im beginning to wonder if it was legit.

Nice one for posting that. Some nice nuggets in there. I love the stories from people who have met them, like this one.
“I played at a festival with Mike and Marcus, curated by Mira Calix in Sheffield in the late 90s, where they performed a rare DJ set. We all stayed at the same place after the gig and – already being a fan – I asked them about some of their influences. I’d brought along some 70s jazz records that sounded like some of their music – mostly, I now realise, because they used the same synth sounds. One of them was an album called Timeless by John Abercrombie which you can hear a tiny sample of, closing out the end of ‘Everything You Do is A Balloon’. When I showed them it they looked nonplussed. They had no idea what it was. They’d sampled it from an old video tape, not knowing the source. Deadmau5 has said one of his live streams that he was influenced by boc as well as a few other familiar faces. This is obvious on tracks such as 'Bored of Canada' and 'Snowcone'.
He has also posted remixes of 'Kiteracer 2' and 'Roygbiv'
Imo, both remixes aren't that good but are worth checking out.

In my opinion this is one of the best BOC inspired artists around, to the point where some of his stuff reaches their level of simplified genius, it's like an album full of BOC vignettes....
