You could even split hairs and remark that the 11th tends to be ephemeral and the 22nd tends to be something tangible. (11th - dead website/no hyperlink, dead tweet, dead legend - whereas 22nd - hyperlink, new album, new single)

Funny you ask that because I remember them saying they were remixing a BOC track back in 2011 or something but nothing ever came of it (or am I wrong on that?)

Yeah, my expectations not high, at all. Tho, I was very hopeful that they release this remix with other tracks on EP.
But, anyways, is this mean new album is imminent ? New album, can you imagine ?!

No one is better at training expectations with their fanbase than these guys - "oh it's been 4 1/2 years, sounds like something is coming soon - maybe if we're lucky, it will be an EP"

To be fair, didn't MDG say at one point the "next release" wouldn't be as delayed as the gap to TH? Totally plausible that the remix could have been for a full new album way back then, and fucking life man, gets in the way and we're 4.5 years down the road again?

I think things have been set up in a certain way where ~5 years was probably always the intention post TH, it IS less than 7-8 years after all!

Hexagon sun (I can't remember if it was MDG or an interview with the brothers) did explicitly state the gap between albums would be shorter than the gap between Trans Canada and Harvest, yes.

If that is the case, and wasn't just an intention they had at the time as a kind of guideline as opposed to something set in stone, we should be expecting something within the next ~24 months maximum.
