In some TH-era interviews with non-English language magazines, they actually directly stated they wanted to do a live event in the future and were working to make it happen. In an article in the Dutch publication Volkskrant.nl, they were quoted as saying: "We want to perform live again if we can make it into something really special. We've already started working on this a little and we hope that this will soon result in something special."

Then again, they also said "we're working to get out there again in the near future" around the release of TCH, so... :(

One of those cameras that takes a 5-photo shot in about a second would be cool. We don't have any moving pictures of BoC whatsoever.

Is it possible that in 2 or 4 years this tread will be bumped by the guy was recording with a camcorder?

If the previous 17 years haven't yielded anything, I doubt it ;-)

So, I found this on Pinterest labeled "Boards of Canada rare live shot." The set-up looks identical to what we've seen in images of the Warp Lighthouse Party/ATP/etc. and that does appear to be the brothers, but they look quite a bit younger here. You can also catch a glimpse of the image on the monitor.

Just thought this was interesting, but not deserving of its own thread.

Awesome! That image exists on bocpages, though, as do any publicly available images of them to the best of my knowledge. There are a handful of live photographs in this collection: http://bocpages.org/wiki/Pictures#Live

Might find some interesting ones here.

And let's have one of Marcus for good measure. I think the beard suited him well.

One of these could be a snapshot of the video footage.

I had considered that at one point, but then looking closer at the photographs you realise that most of them have the typical grain associated with a scan of a chemically developed analogue photograph. I think the one of marcus shared is either a really good scan or from a digital camera, though, so it isn't entirely impossible that it is a still from a video.

Maybe the 'camcorder' that was spotted was actually a digital camera, the one used to take that photo.

Is it just me, or does the image on the monitor look very similar to the artwork from the Mr. Mistake picture disc?

That unfortunately can't be true, although it is a good theory. The camcorder was only recording until a certain point during "Echus", the first track of the set and had to be switched off (or else risk confiscation I assume). People who were there state that the visuals during Echus were entirely of a simple sunrise (or sunset) reel timed to the music.

it does looks very close. but it's not the same photo.

take a look at the right side of the photo for Mr.Mistake. the boys left arm is in close to the body. where as the photo in the monitor there is more separation.

just a coincidence, but indeed very similar.

Yeah, it's probably a completely separate image, I just felt it was interesting/similar enough to share.
