There was also a 5th person (far left) on keys/guitar for certain tracks. Google says it's Jen Macro, who's been a live member since 2013 apparently.
Yep. Jen has been playing a (barely audible) secondary guitar and synth parts live since the MBV tour. IIRC it means that the pre-recorded samples and synth loops no longer have to be pure playback, someone is actually playing them. It isn't too unlike their temporary fifth member who played flute during the '91-'92 tour in place of samples.

New songs are great. Also, this is great...

Part 2 here. Seems that a studio version of that new song is playing in the background towards the end. Sounds mega.

~

It seems to be in the same tuning as 'Who Sees You'
Very nice track, really like the live versions. It sounds like an early encarnation of it is playing in the background, but I suspect the one we get on the album/EP will be rather different in terms of production maybe.

I'm not sure I posted this before but this track is so hauntingly good, oh wow! Like a cozy blanket of deep depression.

Oooh that's a good one. I enjoyed tuning in to a few of those listening parties last year.

Hopefully we'll get an update on new material too. I don't expect him to drop a release date, nor would I believe him if he did, but it could be nice to find out what the actual fuq he's been up to.

Yeah, they've been pretty good fun and I've discovered some good albums too. I can't help wondering if it is being scheduled to coincide with *something* - please just not another remaster of IA and Loveless....

Funny you mention that, as it definitely seems like things are happening in the mbv camp.

There's currently strong speculation that the band have signed to Domino and they're putting out IA and Loveless remasters (of course) and possibly prepping a new album.

More of a summary here if you're interested:

Interesting....

Tim B's comment about MBV's availability on streaming is interesting. I gather he's quite close with Kevin too.

No idea why MBV's albums disappeared from streaming services - I had assumed it was either contractual goings on (of which there always seems to be plenty of with Kevin) or a personal thing with KS against streaming.

If it is the back catalogue reappearing on Spotify, I would like to apologise in advance to my neighbours. Honey Power at eyeball-vibrating volume is fine at 7am right?

Can't speak for them, but I'd allow it lol

Be great if everything gets the repress treatment. Think I'd have to instabuy Loveless, YMMR and Tremolo.

Well, I'm now for the first time seeing the 2013 record on Spotify just after 1 AM on 3/31, so I'm guessing they were announcing streaming availability.

They love to play with our hope, like a certain other band I know.

• All of the above now available on streaming services
• 6 new t-shirt designs

It's cool people can get the analogue reissues again as they sold out fast and were going for silly money on Discogs. I don't understand why Domino/Kevin is also releasing a hi-res 'non deluxe' digital cut when the 'deluxe' version is only a few quid more (and actually fully analogue like a record should be). Still, very cool news.

The best has to be signing to Domino. I'm guessing they haven't done that for distribution purposes and it's actually because new music is on the way. Whoever runs that label is a brave person ha.

I didn't own any MBV records yet, so I'm glad the albums got repressed.
Pre-orderded ofcourse.
