Hello all. I'm new here.
I am awaiting the arrival of cassettes of this:
which is the 'thing I've been working on right now' for most of last year.
Hopefully this is the appropriate place to share. Cheers.

This bad boi. Very boc inspired on this one.
There was no reason for me to stay in the real world any longer. In the real world, it didn't matter if I was there or not. When I realized that, I was no longer afraid of losing my body.

Re: --The post what you are working on *right now* thread--
I just started making music yesterday with this music app called music maker jam. I have no computer at the moment and I always wanted to make music, so here's what I've made so far in one EP. This is my first time creating music so feel free to give thoughts. Personally I like tracks #4 and #5 the best

Cool to see you take interest in making music PresidentSquidward, and I hate to burst your bubble but, music maker jam doesn't allow you to make your own music, you're mixing someone else's music loops. If you like mixing existing music, I'd recommend dj software like mixxx which is like most expensive dj software but free and open. If you really want to make your own music, I'd recommend using a DAW or midi editor or audio programming language. You'll also notice that doing real music is about 500x more fun
It always hurts me a bit to see companies like magix pretending to sell the ability to make music when in reality they sell music games.

Throw away your smartphone.

I heard of mixxx before from friends but never gave it a try. Thanks for reminding me about it!

I like your new track too! “79bpm Wip” I like the slow textured backdrop and how it builds towards the end

I'm setting a reminder for myself to check this out. Based on your description of screwing around with R2R, I feel a strong urge to check this out.Soul_Slip wrote:“Midnight Drifting”

That would be great. I'll do the same. Sounds like we'll have to revive the old "Studio Pics" thread.Soul_Slip wrote:747Music wrote:I'm setting a reminder for myself to check this out. https://soulslip.bandcamp.com/track/midnight-driftingI’ll post some pics of my gear and set up.... just picked up a 1979 MARANTZ SD1000 cassette deck and.... WOW! One of the best sounding pieces I have.... the transistors sound almost identical in tone and warmth to vacuum tubes

Dude! Your music is great! I grabbed Germination Sunglasses from your bandcamp and listened to it on repeat for an hour on the drive home from southern Ontario. Really beautiful stuff.Soul_Slip wrote:“Xylem (ambient)”

Can't wait to listen. Pablo Collective has been quite a gem for a good while now. Top notch production quality. The music is just awesome. I'm pretty darn happy to have those Pablo Collective band stickers you sent me. Cheers.

It needs a bunch of touch-ups still, but I'm having fun with odd-styled IDM lately:
