Samples Everyone Swears They Hear But You Can't

There's 2 different things from Geogaddi that I've heard referenced several times and yet can't make out for the life of me on the actual record:

-Supposedly a few seconds after Alpha And Omega starts, there's a quiet recording of someone saying the song title over an intercom or a megaphone or something else to that effect
-In Corsair, several people claim to hear a kid counting off 1 through 5 at some point near the middle. I've never heard it.

Are my ears just fucked or are people hearing something that's not there? I can make out some of the other extremely quiet samples from Geogaddi (like the singing kids from In The Annexe), but these are still a mystery to me. Also, are there any other samples that you guys have heard referenced but never heard with your ears?

I haven't heard either of the samples mentioned above despite people's claims to the contrary.

Also the alleged "I love you" in the final section of New Seeds. The part they are referencing, even when I adjust the EQ and use studio monitor headphones, just seems to be percussion.

Great idea for a thread. I can't hear these at all. Cranked up the volume on headphones for Alpha And Omega, it's all disembodied laughing. The reverb(+/processing) of the room is fascinating though. Corsair counting is a complete mystery.

All over it, its in the drum loop. Its not too far fetched that they recorded their toilet seat clapping when closing and used it as a sample.

I guess people just perceive what they perceive, it's all very subjective. I remember tripping on 2C-E while listening to MHTRTC and I was totally mesmerized by the album art I was looking at on my phone. I had obviously seen it lots of times before, but this time I SWEAR I knew what it secretly meant. I mean, I was 200% convinced this was what they meant with the album art and that I now understood.

I saw evil, threatening faces in the mountains in the background, as if the family took shelter at a safe distance, caring for the children. Music was the antidote for the threat and misery of society and the "evil world", as if it were a portal back to childhood, hence the album title.

Now, the day after the trip I was looking at the album art again and I sure as hell couldn't see all of that anymore. It wouldn't surprise me if many of the supposedly secret samples and whatnot are just drug-induced hallucinations or wishful hearing, just as my perception of the album art was during the trip, influenced by mood, a specific song and in this case psychedelics.

So in New Seeds, it’s actually “We like you,” and it’s a distorted whispery voice right over the top of the percussion.

I hear it, slightly to the right. I think it is likely tuned percussion, though. If you get what I mean. Of course I hear what you are talking about and it sounds like it could be a vocoded/ messed around with voice, but upon closer inspection I really do think it is percussion of some sort. I get that you might want reply saying that I am just not hearing it, but I hear what could very well be made out to be a whispery voice saying we/I like/love you two times a bar. I do think we are talking about the same part.

There is another sample on that track at the end with a vocal sample but it is impossible to make out, there is a single note drone, the higher end of midrange, in the background of the ending section that seems to be masking a very heavily vocoded voice.

Psychedelics can increese pareidolia but this is something BOC plays with consciously in the artwork so its actually not all subjective. You might have seen things that were put there by the band. The campfire headphase cover is full of hidden faces.

Try looking at the center of the pattern on Geogaddi. I think I did for hours once when I was younger, different times and different substances.

An inverse example, but his one came to me recently and now I can't unhear it. I could swear that Buckie High samples the opening to A Forest by The Cure. I know it's a common progression heard in many songs, but it honestly sounds like they sampled it and warped it a little to me.
