I'm not sure there'd ever be coming back from that if I shat myself in front of my wife. There's being yourself, but that's a bridge too far matefrank chipboard wrote:Anyone else receive a message from Soundcloud 15 minutes ago stating "Boards of Canada have uploaded a new track"? I clicked on it and nothing played, then it took me to their Soundcloud page. The message has disappeared from my notifications.
I'm absolutely sober and didn't imagine it, my wife watched on as I almost shat myself with excitement.

Haven't people gotten false alarms from Spotify or some streaming platform in the recent past?

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
They intentionally used SoundCloud in the past to draw attention to what I hope most people now consider an intentional error (Geogaddi swapped to 2007, Geogaddi Track 21 replaced with an Aphex tune) to promote the Mr. Mistake vinyl being released on 7/21/17. They quickly added Geogaddi to their Playlists section and removed it to trigger a similar notification to get people looking at what I described above.Josh wrote:Haven't people gotten false alarms from Spotify or some streaming platform in the recent past?
They likely did the same thing here, but who knows why?
They also did something with 1969 on Spotify to get another 05/22 out there earlier this year

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
The only thing I see of note that's interesting is that the IABPOITC EP is missing from the albums view, but is present under the tracks section, with the exception of IABPOITC itself (the track) which is nowhere to be found.
Only worth mentioning since its also their most recent tweet

It is already Halloween in Scotland and around these parts, certainly they are 'tricking' us. Maybe we'll get a treat soon
Very interesting thoughts, Opothecary. Love reading how you think.

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
If they've dropped tracks, its so they now have only 70 tracks listed.
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Both the instrumental and regular remixes of Mr Mistake can no longer be played on Spotify. They still show up in playlists and you can go to the album, but the song is greyed out and can't be played.

That would put us at Wednesday, January 9, 2019
On that date in 1793, Jean-Pierre Blanchard became the first person to fly in a balloon in the United States. I guess everything he did was a balloon

Don't get too excited, pretty sure its always been 70 tracks. Just mentioning that IABPOITC was missing
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Where is MHTRTC too ?
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Yeah I do not see it either.
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Seems like they may have uploaded a track and forgot to set it to private, realized their mistake and corrected it shortly after the upload finished.frank chipboard wrote:Anyone else receive a message from Soundcloud 15 minutes ago stating "Boards of Canada have uploaded a new track"? i feel like theres way too much going on for them NOT to be planning something. having hopes for next year, maybe

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
I'm normally more patient for new BoC during the often long intervals of inactivity, but even I'm getting a little desperate. An MDG sighting would probably be enough to tide me over for a decent amount of time. These soundcloud alerts and various digital tracklist hiccups, ect. don't mean anything to me.
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Ah, I feel similar sentiments. It looks like MDG hasn't been online since May 04 of this year. It really is tough waiting sometimes, though. The world definitely needs more BoC.

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
mdg not being here is part of the game. He only showed up briefly earlier this year because of unusual circumstances.
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
His not logging in doesn't mean that he isn't present in reality. He was fairly fast to pounce on that issue with someone being a tad over keen (putting it politely and lightly) on digging up personal info about the Brothers. I think it is likely that he only generally logs in if there is something that needs doing, someone that needs messaging etc. I would assume he does browse and keep an eye on things, though.Mozart wrote:Ah, I feel similar sentiments.
