Really enjoying this - i’ve found a lot of his previous stuff easy to appreciate but hard to actually *love*. This album is sounding great though - like a really wonky and weird pop record.

I can't put it down. This is my favourite release of his. I think it's his most cohesive. On his previous albums I would find myself skipping certain songs. I do occasionally skip Babylon though.

This might be my favorite release from OPN. Had a thought about the track waveforms on the back. When you rotate the art so the wavs read left to right you end up with the last song first and the first song last. I listened to the album with a reversed track listing and imo I like the flow even better. After my first listen I really felt Babylon should be at the end of the album and not the second song starting it, and I like "Age Of" as the closer versus the opener. The aural journey feels different and I like it.

For me, it's a grower. I went from 'ugh' to actually really liking it after one or two complete listen-throughs.

Babylon is really pretty, in a traditional sense of the word. Which, while awesome, isn't really what attracts(ted) me to OPN in the first place. I prefer the otherworldly beauty of Rifts and Returnal. But this is good too. Also a fan of Black Snow. I will say, also, though, that while OPN's earlier stuff held an element of familiarity in what attracted me to it, I can't relate so much to the more pop-related references he's building these songs out of. The autotuned RnB type lyrical style is one of those. I like it just fine but it's not something I thought OPN's sound really needed or suffered from a lack of.

TL;DR it's a great record but my love affair is more for the indulgent 8-minute computerized soundscapes of the early stuff.

I strongly dislike Babylon but love the rest of the album. Probably one of my favourites from this year.

I can't believe I still haven't listened to this. I've been so damn busy lately and am behind on a bunch of things. I gotta step up here, especially since so many are saying how good it is.
