I fully agree, I really like Dawn Chorus as well. I really liked The Eraser, but I think Anima might be better!

I recall seeing "Dawn Chorus" on a list of unreleased Radiohead tracks awhile ago. IIRC, Thom Yorke had referenced it as his favorite Radiohead song before it had ever appeared on an album.

I have never touched a Thom Yorke project in my life (not even Radiohead, even though everyone loves them and I myself enjoy a few of their singles over the years). This record interests me though, but should I do the Radiohead stuff before this or is it not necessary for now?

It's fine to start with this record, it doesn't really matter. That said, I prefer almost every Radiohead album over this album, except for Pablo Honey.

I'm a bit of a fanboy, but in my opinion every Radiohead album is really, really good, except for Pablo Honey, that 1 is fucking shit.

Great release but doesn't come close to The Eraser. Yesterday I was watching Netflix and noticed the recommendation of the short musical film ANIMA of which I wasn't aware of. Lovely piece of modern dance.

With electronic I mostly recommend chronological listening as you grow along with the development of the musician but I don't think it is necessary for Thom's solo project.. Although now that I'm thinking about it, there is some progression in his solo output but I guess that's because some of it are movie/art projects.
