In all honesty it isn’t that big of a deal... it is just an extra... it still could be that this is the most complete decent quality show they have available... and we still don’t know who recorded it so it could be someone personally close to the brothers or to the label... also i thought that the boc brothers might more ok with bootleg shows than we think... they love undeground and older recordings and maybe they also simply enjoy the audience audio from their show...we just simply don’t know but it isn’t the end of the world and does no justice to us of them by complaining so much... it makes us fans seem very conceited and whiny and makes us seem like we can’t be satisfied... I am not going to let myself be bothered by that little detail... this is the best bday weekend I have ever had... last thing I want is for someone to catch wind of this community’s bitchy unsatisfied fans and then they choose to really not give a shit... let’s relax and enjoy the AMAZING music that we are treated to this entire weekdend...

My money is on this being a compilation of old stuff. They've mentioned that they were trying to archive and catalog all of that. Here's hoping the bocset finally comes to be. And yes a new album too.

Or maybe new AND old stuff? As someone said here before, maybe X in 'Societas X Tape' stands for (/) slash?
It could be that 'Societas' part is one hour of new, post-TH music, while 'Tape' is one hour of some old unheard/unreleased stuff from the early days on tapes ... I just hope it will be 2 full hours of their own music, new or old whatever, and not just some DJ mix of their favorite artists (you know, like in Societas = society of like-minded artists).

I wish Societas X Tape would be something audiovisual, but I don't think it would work with the NTS Radio format. Its a 2 hour pre-recorded mix so my guess is that they're going to weave in tracks we've already heard with some unreleased bits.

A boy can dream that this is their way of announcing a new album, but it would overshadow all of the other artists who put time and effort into being a part of this event and it's not really Boards of Canada's style to be that flashy.

I'm not going to be home while it's airing, so if someone could get a recording...ahh, hell, who am I speaking to? A recording will be posted up somewhere minutes after it airs haha.

The thing on channel 2 today is not the ATP set. It's the Warp 10 show and is on in an hour, so I guess we'll just have to be patient and see what's coming from that. If Boards had a say in its airing, they'd probably at least clean it up before it's submitted. However, if it's just something NTS threw together, then it may be the bootleg we all already have. Go listen to the Hudson Mohawke mix on Channel one right now..it's great.

Well, yesterday when they aired Aphex Twin @ Barbican 2012 you could either listen to it or go to the video section and watch the livestream (which they fully uploaded to the NTS channel after the stream was over)

Ooh, I didn't know that. Okay, I'm not banking on it being audiovisual, but not dashing it anymore. Joyrex's post on WATMM made me lift an eyebrow.

Half hour until Warp 10! I moderate the Boards of Canada Facebook group and threw up a live listening post for it, in case anyone is over there right now.

I understand that some people initially thought that NTS 2 was under the direct control of Warp for the weekend, and as a result, feeling let down by the fact that we were all under the impression that we would be hearing a soundboard audio source of one of our collective favorite concerts this evening.

It was okay to be disappointed and to express disappointment, as a consumer, that is your right. I didn't care all that much as I have been more focused on the 'Societas X Tape' side of things and I feel the bootleg recording of Warp10 is adequate, though not as potentially beautiful as a soundboard source might have theoretically been.

Now we know that NTS 2 is not under the direct control of Warp for the weekend and is, rather, just providing warp related content that is already in the eye of the public, we can put this to rest. It was still a tad misleading before the title was corrected, and as stated before, one has every right to feel disappointment.

Those making veiled insults towards their fellow forum members should stop.
They aren't reading and you aren't getting a personal invitation to Hexagon Sun for "defending them from disloyal dissenters". Those who were frustrated at the potentially misleading title stopped talking about it a page or more ago and there is no reason to keep going back to it to talk about how they shouldn't have felt let down.

Looking forward to getting to hear the Warp 10 broadcast regardless.
It will be nice to listen to it with others listening as well, like when a BoC song appears on the radio or in a television segment.
