I did think that the video was very beautiful and mesmerizing to watch. The way the kaleidoscopic patterns kept shifting and everything was right on! I'd just have to say that, yeah, it was cliché. But more because it didn't really address what the song was about. If it had been like aquarius or turquoise hexagon sun maybe it would've fit better. But the footage didn't seem rural or religious or anything. One of my favorites though, definitely!

After reading all these comments, you've got to wonder what the brothers would think of this video? Hit or miss?

ATOMLESS put together the Neil Krug website it appears; known on this forum for the work he did on the geogaddi site some years ago.

I agree with azamarro. The technique is impeccable, very high quality work. There's certainly no small bit of cliche here, but it's to be expected. Some segments dragged on for a bit, and I was also a bit put off by the choice of music; the children didn't seem to be in a particularly pastoral country setting.

But quite nice, one of the most amazing kaleidoscope effects, and doing it with running video is ever more impressive. And of course the bit with the cat was the best.

Something fishy about this FLV. I can't convert it to another format (mp4 for ipod) neither can I play it with my FLV player. And I've got tons of other FLV files on my computer which I can play...

Has anyone been able to play this flv file at all? And what player did you use?

Hmm, you're right, I can't play this using mplayer like I normally can for flvs. I'm guessing this is using some new Flash 9 codec.

I recommend listening to BoC while watching "Sunrise Earth" on DiscoveryHD. Same effect!

The description from the Yahoo thread made me think of the last episode of "Sunrise Earth" I saw. It was an eclipse episode.. long, very long shots of a solar eclipse over some exotic country, causing mass avian confusion.

It's well known they used old super 8 of children for their concert, I don;'t think he's claiming he came up with this idea completely independently.
